Hi,

My aunty and uncle (in their 70s) want to fly to Alexandria on their annual trip to visit family etc and are considering QR J.

However, I noticed that the flight from DOH-HBE is on an A320 which only has an F and Y cabin. Will they be "demoted" to Y on that flight ?
What happens to lounge access etc ?
Will they land and be taken to the premium terminal only to be denied lounge access ?

Would appreciate any thoughts/comments.

Thanks

It looks like (on the QR website) that it books into F but of course they'd be able to confirm this prior to purchase.

I'd suggest using a good Travel Agent to ticket for them (who may be aware of other options also).

If the second flight books into F you will be allowed to access the lounge.

Things may change when QR move to the new airport later this month though.

I've been trying to get a straight answer on this from QR without much success. The QR website is still describing everything in terms of the arrangements at the old airport, but as we all know all QR flights will be going through the new new airport by the end of the month. If they still have a Premium Arrivals Lounge at the new airport, I assume you will OK to use that if you are in-bound in J even if your onward connection is in Y.

if you make a dummy booking on the website - which class is the DOH-HBE flight booked into?
