Just a quick one. Flying QF5 J class from SYD - SIN, can i access Emirates lounge?
Im QFF bronze, I found loads of info for QFF but not so much about business passengers.
Was hoping to have someone guest me into F lounge but doesnt look likely and iv heard the emirates lounge in sydney is nice so will sample this lounge if im entitled to enter.

Many thanks

From what my understanding is, you can only access the Emirates lounge through the shared FF program, not flying on a QF J ticket.
[h=2]Access to Partner airline lounges[/h] Platinum One, Platinum and Gold Frequent Flyers have access to the Emirates lounge* where available across Australia, Europe, Asia, North Africa and the Middle East.
In Dubai, Platinum One and Platinum Frequent Flyers will have access to the Emirates First Lounges and Gold Frequent Flyers will have access to the Emirates Business Lounges.
When travelling from London, Qantas Club Members will have access to the American Airlines Admirals Lounge at London Heathrow when their next onwards flight that day is with Qantas or Emirates between Australia, Dubai and London.
Qantas Club Members are welcome at the Emirates Business Lounge in Dubai when their next onwards flight that day is with Qantas or Emirates.
When travelling with American Airlines, as a Qantas Club member you and a guest are welcome at American Airlines Admirals Club lounges. Simply present your Qantas Club card together with your boarding pass at the lounge reception. Both you and your guest need to be travelling together further that day on a flight marketed and operated by the partner airline whose lounge you wish to visit.
* Access to the London Heathrow EK lounge is available when on an Emirates operated flight only.

Did you already try? I tried to get into the MEL EK lounge with a J ticket for QF133 to AKL, but was denied entry with the lounge dragon saying J pax only get in on DBX headed QF flights (I was not SG back then).

Hi TheDan,

I haven't flown yet but i did get a message from QF saying that I would be able to enter the SYD EK lounge when flying J to Singapore. surprised you werent able to get in, perhaps its something to do with the trans tasmin route. one thing i have found so many times is often the lounge agent is wrong and wont want to let you in even if you know you should be able to get, for what ever reason

You can't use EK lounge trans tasman regardless of status.

Is this likely to change given the recent NZ approval of the QF-EK partnership? In the media release, there was a quote from AJ that "New Zealand consumers can tap into the lounges, frequent flyer benefits and destinations available under the joint Qantas and Emirates network".

yeah - they have changed the entry requirements on their page for lounge access to incorporate each others FFs and include trans-tasman flights now.
