Hi guys and girls!

My QFF date is listed as 31 August. If I were to fly on that last day will the SC be counted to the current year or next?

Thanks so much for your help

Flights are counted in the membership year they are flown. So, if you fly on 31 August, it will count to the year that 31 August is in.

Where it got confusing for me is the dashboard says fly before August 31

Membership year resets at midnight at the end of the last day of the month.
Flights count to the day they are scheduled to depart. So QF38 (SIN-MEL) counts as July 1 as it departs at 2350, yet JL35 (HND-SIN) counts as July 2 as it departs at 0005.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

All they need to do is modify it to say "Fly before the end of August 31, xx_x" ...

but anyway it's pretty obvious to me they mean the end of the calendar month inclusive.

I'm flying 2 days before my QFF anniversary this year. I understand I'll lose those sc at reset, but I'll be due dsc. These often post a few days later than flight so what will happen in my case? Will I lose those dsc too?

lose is an odd thing to say given that while they will credit to this membership year and apply in terms of status earn they will also apply to lifetime status earn, so in that respect they won't be "lost" - but they won't apply to the new membership year, even if they are credited into the new year.

There is ONE small potential situation where this could be an advantage. If the original SCs earned (NOT the DSC as they do not apply) to earn a loyalty bonus, and that LB - if chosen as SC earn - is redeemed in the new membership year then it will apply for that year (which seems contrary to all other status earn, but whatever).
