Just curious if flying on NYE (so in the air at what would be midnight) do the airlines tend to do anything different for those onboard?

I flew NYE last year overnight from SIN to MEL on QF. Other than the FAs wearing some party glasses and hats, it was BAU.

I'm flying to London, departing Sydney on 31 Dec on QF1. My plan is to turn my watch back an hour at preset points, so I can fit in at least 10 New Year's eves along the way. It's all about the timezones. Like being at Tweed Heads, celebrating the New Year, and then rushing over the border to Coolangatta and doing it again an hour later - but just a few more times

Should be fun....

See if they can crack open a fresh Pommery each time? 😀

I wish. If my upgrade to J doesn't come through I'll be down the back cracking the piccolos of Grant Burge. Although, it will probably be more of a party atmosphere than up in J with everyone laid out flat, slumbering away - I pity them :)

Do they actually do that? Or is only when NYE co-incides with a full moon? 😀

if you're going to be drinking the Grant Burge you better pack some antacid in your carry on.

Done before in Etihad J Europe to Aus. A few jolly passengers on the second leg who had a jolly good time on the first but other than that - just the same! 😀

Caning back on EK from FRA to DXB about three years ago the captain announced that is was midnight in Germany. I didn’t notice anything else though.
