Flying BNE to SYD [on Virgin or Rex] then LAX [on Delta]. Where to check in?

Hi All, I have friends from the US flying back home from BNE. They are flying BNE to SYD then on to LAX.

They think they are to check in at the BNE INTERNATIONAL terminal. I don't think that is correct. They are flying Delta (Delta booked their domestic leg, BNE -SYD) Some are flying BNE-SYD on Virgin others on Rex.

Should they check in at BNE domestic and then go to the transfer desk in SYD (wherever that may be)?

Will their luggage be checked through to LAX from BNE?

TIA
Ron

Go to the BNE domestic terminal (don't get off at international). Rex and Virgin should both have services for check in connecting onto international services and that's where they need to go. Ask the staff at the airport if needed.

If it's booked on one PNR, the luggage should be checked through although best to confirm with the staff at check in.

You'll be taking a full domestic flight from BNE landing into SYD T2. From there they need to make their way to SYD T1 (the Int'l terminal). Best free option is the shuttle bus that comes around, however if they're massively pressed for time, the train is the fastest option but it isn't free.

Thank you both for your advice. As I'm driving them to the airport it's good to know which terminal to take them to!

The BNE airport guide says the "International Transfer Desk" doesn't open until 0730. They'll be in Sydney by then! I trust that the Virgin and Rex staff will know what to do...

Cheers

The BNE airport guide says the "International Transfer Desk" doesn't open until 0730.
I think that refers to travellers arriving in Brisbane on an international flight and then immediately connecting to another international flight out of Brisbane

As Indicated, BNE domestic.

See here for Virgin ("All Domestic to International connections:")

At SYD T2, they can use the (landside) Terminal transfer Bus to get to T1 .
