Quick question - my explorer gold runs out on 16 Feb. I'm looking at flights for March and am keen to upgrade SYD-JFK. If I request an upgrade now as Gold, will that still be valid even when I'm back to Silver?

Can anyone report on how quickly you account is updating to "Explore Gold"?

I registered Wednesday and have a VA sector on Monday that I could like to count towards the 80SC to retain gold but my account has not budged.

My Account was updated in what seemed to be 30 minutes.

Applied for the offer on my phone on the train home, arrived home and downloaded the Virgin app and it was showing gold.

Well, for whatever reason I have not been granted it on my stable mate's account after a few days of checking. It would show on the desktop membership wouldn't it - it's not that I have to have the app? Also, AwardWallet hasn't notified me either. :-|

I applied last night around 7pm and was showing as gold this morning. Have now booked flights to get the 80 SC.

I received the email as others have and registered. Opened my regular email from Velocity this evening to find the upgrade has gone through.



Now to go see how to get 80 SC in the next three months.

I am QF Gold but have started flying with VA lately. I have my Flybuys linked to my VFF but didn't receive anything for this offer Not sure how they target it, but I'll amost certainly be doing 80 SC+ over the next few months.

Someone who did get this - Is the URL in the email clearly targeted?

I received the email as others have and registered. Opened my regular email from Velocity this evening to find the upgrade has gone through.

I reapplied as advised by the VA operator and was granted status pretty quickly.

CJEMNMAC has already touched on this, however my 2 bobs worth. So basically VA and Flybuys are saying we don't care about our exisiting loyal PS flyers. We only care about poaching (more than likely for a short time) QF PS and above. Way to go VA for rewarding your very loyal flyers. Both my wife and I didn't receive the offer and even if we did she was not eligible because she is loyal to VA. (we both have red status with QF)

I guess this only further proves that most airline loyalty programmes don't actually reward loyalty but actually reward the amount of money you are willing to spend...
