We have a thread on the WW/EDR forum disucssing late EDR bonus point credits. I thought it was a good time to start a similar thread in the Flybuys forum.

Flybuys are getting better at crediting their bonus points, compared to what things were like when they relaunched the product in April last year. Some of my bonus points lately have actually been credited before the 4 week period ended.

I have a large collection of email offers which haven't been credited at the moment. The oldest one is the 5X points promotion from the weekend of 23-25 November, 2012. Has anyone received their bonus points from this weekend? This was the unusual weekend where any member could opt into the promotion via the website. I am guessing there is a huge amount of bonus points due for credit which is probably what has slowed everything down.

What are your experiences lately of bonus points being credited early, on time or late?

The bonus points for my account posted today for the 5X points promotion in November. Hopefully some of the December email offers will post soon.

To be honest, I don't know as it is so hard to reconcile. I did complain about it on Facebook and they replied saying they know and are working on better FlyBuys statements.

Both Coles and Woolworths really need to put offer IDs in emails, on paper vouchers and so on, and then reference those in statements.

yep, I agree with deKa. I have only kept track of the very large bonuses eg 6000 for some champagne and over 1000 for eftpos tranasctions. Even then I am unsure if all the latter posted.
I am glad they acknowledge the tracking issues

There are probably lots of strategies for reconciling points. I know some members use an excel spreadsheet for QFF points earned through Everyday Rewards. I keep a text file which lists all my base point flybuys transactions. Next to the date and the base points I keep notes as to how many bonus points are due from the transaction and whether they are from general promotions, targeted emails, coupons etc. I then keep a separate list in the same text file for bonus point transactions. I write the bonus point amounts, dates credited and the promotion they were from. Once the bonus points have been entered in this list I go back to the base points list and delete the comments next to the relevant transaction. I also delete the emails after the points have been credited for each email offer.

I check my flybuys balance every day and can tell when points have been added by keeping track of the points total and how much it has changed from day to day. Yes, I know this takes time but I have fun doing it so I feel it is worth it for me. Others may have different opinions.

At the moment the only thing I have lost track of is the recent 50 point EFTPOS transactions. Some of these were credited with other bonus points. There is one amount of bonus points I think I am missing but I could be wrong. It was hard keeping track of this one as there were so many promotions with 50 points or 100 points going at the same time.

I look forward to Flybuys improving their tracking and notation system for bonus points. It's nice to see that they have taken notice of the feedback which I and other members have given on the issue.

For the first few weeks of December flybuys sent out some targeted offers early each week and the offers ran for the whole week. Some of the offers were for Coles and covered items like meat, bread, deli and the fruit and vegetable section. The subject title usually had the term Christmas or Xmas in it.

I haven't received the bonus points from these promotions and neither have they appeared in my partner's account. I am wondering whether other members have received the points yet. My theory is that flybuys haven't processed the points yet and will process them all at once. I am missing 500 points and my partner's account is missing just over 500 points. If it was just one of us who was missing the points then I'd lodge a complaint with flybuys.

Has anyone else received their points? Has anyone chased up the missing points with the call center or the "contact us" email system?

I thought flybuys were improving their bonus point systems but I'm not so sure now. It's well over 4 weeks since the end of the promotion period.

I too have not been receiving all the bonus points for taking up some of the offers.I have the docket deals scanned and activate the online promotions when they are offered, however on the statements the majority do not come through, even after waiting well after the promotion has finished. If they do arrive they are in no way matching to the amounts of bonus points that should have been posted and they only come in bulk and can not be matched to individual purchases.I think it is just a gimmick to get you to buy more.Maybe a letter to the A.C.C.C. will make the get their act together.

Hi Terry, sorry you appear to have trouble reconciling the flybuys points you have earned. We are working on making it easier for members to match the points credited with the offers taken up, as we appreciate it's not as easy as it could be at present. We take very seriously our responsibility to honour all of the offers we have made, and we believe our systems are robust and accurate, but please call us on 131116 so we can look into any instance where you think you haven't received the points you are owed.

I give up Flybuys.

I have been extremely careful to keep my own records of each transaction at Flybuys partners, the number of base points received for the transaction and the bonus points due for each transaction, even when I have taken up multiple targeted and general offers during each transaction. This usually enables me to reconcile the points correctly once they are finally processed, sometimes up to 2 months after the transaction date.

I used to be really good at reconciling, even when bonus points payments were lumped together and I had to add up points from multiple dates. It's just gotten a lot more difficult in the last few weeks and I can't put the figures together correctly anymore. It's hard when I have multiple pending offers with the same reward such as 50, 75, 100, 500 and 1000 points. Given these promotions are paid in different orders it is difficult to see which 500 point payment I have received. I've even had trouble lately reconciling the double and triple points offers even though I'm really good with numbers and calculations. The Tell Coles payments are lumped together with all the Coles Special Bonus payments and the fact that these payments have different timeframes also makes it difficult to reconcile.

I guess at this point I should say thank you to flybuys. I've been very lucky to receive so many targeted offers in the form of email offers, docket deals and coupons. Other members don't seem to be as lucky as me. These points, which I have converted into Flybuys dollars, have helped me save hundreds of dollars a year. I love being part of Flybuys most of the time but it hasn't been too good since the website revamp.

I would also like to thank flybuys for SOME of the bonus point transactions. These transactions show the date of the credit of the bonus points as well as the TRANSACTION date in another section of the entry. These transactions are very easy to reconcile as they correspond to the relevant list of bonus point offers I have taken up on that specific date. Please flybuys, if you can do this for some bonus points payments, would you please improve the system so you can do this will all of the bonus points transactions, especially the Tell Coles payments. If you do this it will be easier to track whether I need to chase up your call center if and when bonus points are overdue.

I've been told that the call center can break up the bulk payments but my personal experience with the call center has proven otherwise. I've chatted to several staff there and they claim they can't look up what each bonus point payment was for. Some of them look up the transactions and try to guess. I've had to correct them on a few occasions about what each payment signifies. I've also heard some bad reports lately about long waiting times on the call center which are impractical for me as I can only use a mobile to contact the call cener and this works out as really expensive.

I know that you are working on improving the bonus point description section. You've been saying this for a long time now and I think it's about time you gave us an approximate timetable for when it is coming rather than keep making the promise of "we're working on it." When you revamped the website it would have been the perfect time to introduce the new system.

I'd love to put all this on the contact us system on your FAQs pages but this feature doesn't work on my Firefox browser since the changes to the website. I only have limited time each week on a public computer to check my points balance, offers and redemptions so I don't have the time to type all this up using that system.

While you're looking at the bonus points system, would you see if you could improve the communications between Flybuys and the partners, Target and Coles Express. Bonus points from these partners have been extremely late or missing. Coles Express bonus points show up as Coles Express Adjustments but sometimes these adjustments are either late, missing or for the wrong number of points. They're not wrong by much and it's not worth chasing up every transaction but it's annoying having to put up with it.

I keep wondering whether your bonus points are added manually or whether they are automated. Sometimes I notice very tiny errors in base points and bonus points which seems to be a case of human mistyping errors. Points only show up in the afternoon on a weekday which seems to indicate there is a human factor involved. Bonus points for everyday rewards credit 7 days a week and at all times of the day and the night which to me suggests that most of the process is automated.

Is anyone out there as frustrated as I am about these issues or had problems with Coles Express and Target bonus points payments?

Thanks for your detailed feedback and we're sorry that we've made it hard for you to reconcile points (and sorry for the delay in responding). This week we have upgraded our bonus point descriptions which may make it a little easier for you to reconcile your points. We appreciate the feedback about Coles Express and Target in particular and we will follow this up. In answer to your query about automatic or manual allocation of bonus points, it is a combination - while the data extracts that calculate bonus points are automated (hence there should not be tiny errors in points), the construction and forwarding of the point files are manual, which means that sometimes the timing can be variable. We are very conscious however of the undertaking we provide regarding the waiting time for bonus points to be allocated. Our aim over time is to reduce the waiting time which we hope will also make it easier to reconcile.

Thank you for your response. I should be able to get into my account today to check the updates. Will let you know what I think once I see the changes.

you are very dedicated. I have long ago given up trying top reconcile Fb points. Maybe with new descriptions I'll be able to make more of an effort

I had a look through my account transactions and I was impressed. There is now more detail in the bonus point breakups and this has been retrospective. I was able to check 6 months worth of bonus points and other transactions with the updated details. I'm impressed. It would be great to go back another 6 months but for now I'm satisfied. I haven't attempted to reconcile them yet against my records but based on the information I have seen I shoud be able to match up most of the bonus point entries. The fact that you have 6 months worth of transactions is actually better than everyday rewards at the moment. When they revamped their website they reduced the transaction listing from 3 months to 1 month.

I am happy that Tell Coles now show as a separate entry. It will now be easy to track which surveys have been credited. The docket deals and coupons show up fairly clearly. The email promotions don't always show the email date or transaction date but I should still be able to figure these out using a process of elimination.

Thank you for your hard work and efforts. Once I piece together the last few months of bonus point payments I should have an idea of what has been paid and what hasn't been paid. It looks like the Coles Express payments will be much easier to track now as well.

Thanks for your feedback; it's really appreciated. We're sorry that it has taken a while to get to this point - if you have any other suggestions for improvement, we'd be happy to hear.

It would be good if the Tell Coles transactions could indicate either the date of the survey completed or the month completed. I'm a bit confused as to which surveys have been paid. I do one every month but it is difficult to track which months have been paid due to the timeframe between the survey and the credit.

I was able to reconcile most of the bonus point transactions, including some recent bonus point transactions that had me completely confused before the breakdown of points was introduced.

Has anyone tried to stack multiple Coles Express offers in the one transaction and gotten the points for all of the offers?

I frequently stack multiple offers on my Coles supermarket transactions and get credited for each offer, although usually on different dates. Just before Christmas I stacked two Coles Express offers in the one transaction. I purchased a packet of Cadbury favourites which was on special for $6. I had a targeted offer for purchasing this item at Coles Express for bonus points and also had a general instore Coles Express promotion for spending $5 instore. I've received the points for the chocolates but not the instore purchase.

I've often had to chase up bonus points for Coles Express so I don't know whether this is another points oversight or whether the rules for Coles Express are different to Coles. There were no conditions saying that only one offer could be taken up at a time etc.

I might be in the same situation in a few weeks time regarding crediting and chasing up of bonus points. I took up a special Coles Express offer for purchasing 2 car washes for $18. I had a 500 point offer for this particular item. This also means I spend over $5 instore and at the time I had two separate overlapping offers for spending $5 instore at Coles Express for 250 points. I'd like to know whether I will eventually get 1000 points for this transaction or just 500 points.

I'd be happy to receive observations from other members before I go chasing up flybuys directly.

Can't really comment on Coles Express however I noticed on my statement last week that I had points credited for a triple points offer transaction back in December, so your points may *eventually* credit.

My points for "the Big Day" promotion also credited recently. I'd almost given up on them. Hopefully the Coles Express points will eventually turn up without me having to chase them.

All the bonus points for the March car wash transaction have now been credited to my account. One of the 250 payments was made first, then the 500 points from the car wash promotion and then the second payment of 250 points. The payments were spread across about 10 days but they had the original transaction date in the notes so I could track where they were from. I'm still missing points from December last year so I'll have to figure out whether it is worth chasing these ones.

I don't chase up bonus points very often. Flybuys have improved things quite a lot so there are now less problems with bonus points being credited. I usually wait until I have 3 or 4 lots of bonus points missing before I chase things up using the contact us/FAQ system on the flylbuys website. It doesn't seem worth my time if I chase up every 100 points that doesn't get credited.

Unfortunately I waited too long for some of the bonus points chase up. Flybuys credited some of the bonus points that I was chasing but wouldn't credit some points from more than six months ago, including the 100 points from Coles Express that were missing from last December. I got most of the points I wanted but it was annoying that they wouldn't credit the older transactions. I know that the members only get 6 months worth of transactions in the activity statements but I thought that Flybuys would actually keep the records a lot longer.

My advice to other members is, "Don't wait too long to chase up your missing points."
