A couple of weeks ago I signed up with Coles Home Insurance to... you know, insure my home. While filling out the quote form I put in my flybuys details, and nowhere else that they asked for it. However up to now I haven't seen the account linked up nor I get any extra points for that. Anyone has done this before and how long does it take for points to hit your account? Do you get extra bonus for getting the policy with Coles? I can't really check because the Coles insurance website only let you fill in claims, no details can be checked.

Thanks everyone for your help!!

So I have just discovered the same issue with my Coles Car Insurance, which i purchased over the phone in December.
No points posted whatsoever.

My advice is to call the Flybys service centre and explain the situation of missing points from your purchase of insurance, plus a retrospective claim for all the missing additional points you should have earnt from Coles supermarkets.

The Flybys service centre will request that your Flybys number is linked to your policy, so best to check this out by calling the Coles Insurance call centre. (A word of advice: Coles insurance can be painful to deal with depending if your call gets diverted to Manilla or The knowledgable staff at the Durban call centre).

I've given up on them; they couldnt get my renewal to me before my current policy expired, couldnt even tell me the price as it was "still processing". They also cant view your policy for half an hour if you've had it open on your own computer...

But if you've put your flybuys number in during the quote process, you shouldnt have any problems.

Points from my Coles car insurance bonus appear in my Flybuys early the month after they are earnt in one lump sum. The maximum is 1000 points, so I get 1000 bonus points each month.

Best of luck with the insurance aspect, had a motor vehicle claim with them a year ago, all sorts of probs...access to claims section very limited only a couple of lines in and lines seemed to be always engaged. Reminds me of the ol investment saying." High return equals high risk". Ditto insurance " low premium equals low service ". Hopefully now all this is in the past

Thanks everyone. I hope I don't have to claim anything. Just got this for peace of mind, and since Allianz cancelled my policy after me failing to pay for 3 months (coz my CC was stolen - and no notice whatsoever for me to update my details).
Thanks Cool Cat Phil for suggesting calling them. I've checked and the account is linked up ok. I guess I'll just wait for a few more weeks and will call Flybuys for more info.
