Definitely agree but Coles idea with web jet was any seat on any airline at any time... Not a bad option for us

And roughly how much do you need to spend to get any seat on any airline at any time? I must admit I haven’t even looked at the website, but wonder how attractive an offer it is. Still probably wouldn’t shop at Coles if I could avoid it.

A bummer for us, we have two kids that work at Coles and have the discount cards.......so we try to shop there as often as we can . FWIW, I prefer Coles over Woolies, but ymmv!

I wish I could shop at Safeway but ,and this may seem silly,my local Safeway has very poor car parking, there are too few spaces and the ones they do have
are very poorly situated and hard to get my Falcon into so instead of shopping there I drive another 2 km's and shop at the Coles which has lots of spaces
which are easy to park in.
As regards Flybuys well it's not the greatest rewards program but at least I get some value from the average $130 a week I spend at Coles.
Cheers

Not sure yet but I dare this forum will have it worked out shortly!

I would expect that the redemption rate for Webjet would be at somewhere around the 0.5c per point level. So it's going to take a lot of points to get anywhere!

What an (un)suprise that Velcocity didn't make it.

Disappointed but apparently Coles kicked Virgin out of partner talks a while ago.

Pity.

But then again it means that there are fewer people competing for award on DJ/VA as well. Isn't that a good thing? I don't want to book award 300+ days in advance like QF as there are too many people fighting for the limited number of Classic Awards (yes there is ASA but good ASAs only available way out).

Well, the way I see it, to have been competitive with EDR, they would have been needing to offer 1 Velocity Point per dollar. If there standard FlyBuys offer works out to 0.5 cents per point, then that may have not been enough to buy those Velocity Points. They may have just decided that the differences were too great to bridge.

I don't know if the timing is right for Velocity to enter into an arrangement with Coles / Flybuys. Afterall Virgin has just gone through a massive rebranding and is growing by itself without the need for a supermarket partner.

I'm not the biggest Coles supporter anyway... the Coles closet to my home in St Leonards in Sydney has extremely high pricing - it really puts me off knowing that the company is charging me massive markups. I'm a big Woolworths fan :)

That Coles is a Coles Central - convenience store not a supermarket so the prices are higher. Legacy of Coles push against 711 before they bought Shell out.

But yes it is an annoying little Coles! They have had a DA in for a large Coles in Crows Nest for ages now (knocking down the Franklins building) but true to Sydney councils and Sydney in general - no development is the best development so it has been stalled and stalled....

Yeah - Coles Central.. rip off merchants (but hey - people pay the $$'s for the convenience so it's obviously good for business lol).

We prefer to go to Woolworths in Northbridge for big shops and Woolworths Crows Nest for smaller shops. Franklins is just a disaster lol

I have switched my shopping to Coles since moving house last December. Unfortunately my closest Woolworths is the one on George Street (Town Hall) whereas my closest shopping centre (Broadway) has both Bi-Lo and Coles and thanks to the proximity of Sydney Uni it's actually quite cheap.

Still don't think I'll bother with Fly Buys though. It's another card in my already full wallet.
