Flights to MOV and BDB!

Announced today that from May 4, a single-daily ATR service will operate between BNE and BDB. The local rag in BDB has the flights operating at lunchtime..."Flights will depart Brisbane at 12.40pm arriving into Bundaberg at 1.40pm and depart Bundaberg at 2.10pm, arriving in Brisbane at 3.10pm."

Also announced that a twice-daily flight will operate BNE-MOV from 2 April, bumping up to 3x daily on 15 April. No timetable available as yet (at least from what I've found...)

Great to see. I know that VA were p**ed that the Newman government renewed QFs monopoly on a number of Qld routes they wanted to serve. Hopefully this will show VA can serve regional centres just as well as anyone. The QF MOV monopoly has been nothing but exploitative.

Yeah I thought saying long enough was clear... guess not. The ATR is almost 100Kts slower than the Q400 in the cruise. There's about a 20 minute difference between the two on a BNE-EMD so I'd imagine MOV will be about 35 mins slower on the ATR, taking it close to 2:30 from wheels up to wheels down.
