Flights to Europe

Hi this is my first post

We have just decided on a cruise in Europe in May and hoping we can use some of our Kris flyer points to get there. There will be two adults and one child travelling. Hubby seems to think it might be better to just purchase the flights ourselves due to the tax being very high on these flights? We usually get brilliant value from our Perth to Auckland flights going home to see family so want to use points wisely. We are somewhat flexible as to where to fly into if it can save money or points? We have lots to learn and would appreciate any hints and tips on when the best time to buy flights is or where to fly to from Perth?

We can't seem to do a dummy booking to check how much our flight taxes will be. Could this be because at this stage we don't have enough points sitting in our Kris flyer account? We have Citibank points that we can transfer over if need be.

Being in Perth you'd have to consider getting to HKG (Hong Kong) or SIN (Singapore) then use points from there on possibly in J (Bus. Class).

Hi Cruiser Elite we are hoping to fly into Rome and out of London economy class. We want to get to Venice so would also consider flying into Milan.
