Flight upgrades using points

Does anyone know if upgrade requests are automatically cancelled if your points total temporarily dips below the required amount for the upgrade request? I've got a few requests in for late Jan but I'm about to book a reward seat that will mean my pts balance will deplete for a couple of weeks. By the time the upgrades are processed I will have well in excess of the required amount again. Curious for any info

Interesting situation. The terms and conditions only require that you have enough points at the time you request the upgrade and when it is confirmed, so theoretically you should be fine in the intervening period.

Does anyone have real-life experiences with this?

This has happened to me a few times, especially when I'm upgraded on an international flight and will have enough points for the return upgrade after the points for my first flight credit. Never had any problem and have still been successful with my upgrades.
