Flight Credits Class Action

My wife got her SMS and email on 3 July and mine came through this morning, so we registered today. She had 2 entries, for 1 and 2 flights. I had 4 entries, for 4, 4, 7 and 4. All of them for 2 pax (ie, the two of us).

Like @craven morehead, I'd lost track of these cancelled flights, except one that stands out, which was SYD-BXG. I can't even remember what the 7 flight item was, whether it was a series of changes, or a decent OS trip we might have planned during a DSC promotion. Just too long ago.

In any case, it's plenty more than I had anticipated, so if we get something for them, great.

Got my text and email this morning and registered later in the day. WOW that’s a few flights I don’t even remember making if not for the emails still saved of the original booking. It amounted to 13. Will help recoup some of the flight credits I had from 2019 that I could not manage to use in the 3 years that followed if one actually gets some payout.

While I might get something if I put my hat in the ring I don't want to encourage opportunistic legal leeches
Too late for that.

The settlement and amount has been agreed - the leaches have got their cut arranged. All they are doing now is working out how to divvy up the rest between those that want a piece of the pie. The are guaranteeing a minimum of $50 (they know the total possible number of people from the info QF has given them). I imagine that the process will then working out how much is left over after giving everyone who registers the minimum amount, and then dividing that up according to whatever formlula is approved - I dount it will be number of flights or segements, more likely amount of money and lenght of time it was held.

I figure as I am on the list, there is no reason I should not get whatever they offer - it will only be distributed amongst the others if I don't take it, and I am not expecting anything more than the minimum.

Message received, enrolled, two flights listed.
SYD-PER & BNE-PER in August 2021.
I remember the trip to BNE. I was in Toowoomba when BNE went into lockdown,
Toowoomba was just outside the lockdown area.
I couldn't return to Perth because WA did exclusions on a state-by-state basis.
So I had had to drive without stopping, even to refuel, to board a flight BNE-DRW.
Took a scenic flight to Katherine and back.
Planned to spend 2 weeks in DRW but it went into lockdown while I was there.
So the 2 weeks became 3.
After 1 week I stopped working in the DRW office and took leave.
Drove to Litchfield and spent a few days doing Kakadu.
Great experience born from necessity.
Will be nice to be rewarded with at least $100 as well!
Even though I remember absolutely nothing about the cancelled flights.
I'm a bit surprised because at the time I was almost exclusively using staff travel.
The status extension and the lounge closures removed most of the motivation to to book as a full revenue PAX.
And so few people were flying, it was relatively easy for staff to be assured of a seat in the business cabin.
However, evidently I made and cancelled at least two revenue bookings!

I’ve registered. Why not? Qantas didn’t abide by their own terms and conditions… and I wasted my valuable time on hold to their useless call centre. Can’t see why anyone would ignore this… claim your cash! I’m also looking forward to Jetstar settling as I had many many Covid cancellations by them.

I wouldn't necessarily count on $100. It is a minimum of $50 per person, not flight. How anything over the minimum is allocated has not been communicated.
Not according to the information on the class action website.
In many cases, the amount received by eligible registered Group Members will be higher, particularly in circumstances where they had multiple eligible bookings or experienced significant delays in receiving their refunds.

$50 = 4 or 5 beers 🤔. In 👍 I’m listed as impacted for 11 international flights, for 2 pax. We got everything back in the end as refunds so I’m curious to see how many beers I actually get 😁

The cancelled flight they show for me was a BA CDG-LHR which was indeed cancelled.. so I'd be happy to gat $59 in compensation. However they missed the cancelled AA flights from MSY-PHL-DUB and the BA flights DUB-LHR-TXL. Also QF LHR-SIN on on to PER. They'd warrant a but more than $50, but I don't expect to see that. It was a DGLOB fare booked through QF but they wouldn't cough up even one red (or any other colour) cent.

Was interesting registering, only one booking reference, but going through old emails it looks as though I rebooked multiple times - including paying hundreds of extra dollarydoos along the way
