Today I've received an email and SMS from Echolaw:
"Echo Law is pleased to confirm that, on 13 March 2026, the parties reached an agreement to settle the class action for a sum of $105 million. The settlement agreement is subject to Court approval and is made with no admission of liability.

To participate in the proposed settlement, Group Members must register by 4pm (AEST) on 2 October 2026. It does not cost any money to register to participate in the proposed settlement and you will never be 'out of pocket' as a result of participating in this class action."

Federal court

I'm assuming lots of AFFers have received this. Has anybody signed up? Is it worth it or should I just ignore it?
I got my cancelled flights refunded.
I think I signed up a while ago and received this notice yesterday. I received my points back but not the flight I paid for because I had changed banks and the money went to a closed account. Could never get Qantas to find where it was! It was over $400 so I hope this will now work. Hope this helps.

I registered and was shown two rows for flights in 2020 and 2021, for a total of six flights. I'll see how this goes - I lost a tiny bit (<$200) in GVs (which I realise this doesn't cover) and even if Echo takes a huge cut, anything I get will be more than what I otherwise would have.

Just submitted my claim for 6 flights. I feel like I've done quite well out of QF's bad behaviour over the COVID period

Also registered now.

No claims against JQ ? Matter of time surely? They were doing the same thing

What happens if you don't get the email? I know we had flights cancelled and we're given credits - and yes I have checked junk mail - nada

Received this only today. Had plenty of flight cancellations during that timeframe but always followed up with Qantas to get a proper refund, often lengthy calls and on holds I vividly remember.

So I would have not thought I was eligible but hey, even if it’s just 50 bucks! Luckily, after reading this here I am reassured this is legit because that was my instant first fear- is someone pishing for information here? But good good, will look at the submission later today :D

You're eligible if it took more than 30 days to get the refund.

4. you either used the flight credit, still hold the flight credit, or held it for at least 30 days before receiving any refund.

Just went through the registration process. It seems QF have handed over the info because I had lost track after AJ made it so hard to claim

@Seat0B FYI
EchoLaw are contacting potential Class Action members from information provided by QF.
The EchoLaw QF Class Action website states among other things:

That notice will be distributed to over 1 million potential Group Members between 29 June and 10 July 2026 via email and SMS. If you are an eligible Group Member, you should receive the notice by 10 July 2026.

Emails will be sent from ‘no‑[email protected]’ or ‘[email protected]’ and text messages from ‘Echo Law’. If you received an SMS that is not from ‘Echo Law’, or an email not from an ‘@echolaw.com.au’ address about the proposed settlement, please be careful about following any links in those messages.

It is important that you read the Notice carefully and follow the instructions in the Notice on how to register or other steps you may take, including to access the registration portal.

If you did not receive a Notice but believe you may be an eligible Group Member, please wait until at least 13 July 2026 before contacting us.

Yep
Did you get “invited to register” or did you just go to the web site and register and this came up?

I received an unexpected email with the registration link. At first, I was suss but everything seems fine. Process took 5 minutes and I received confirmation email. 12 flights, could be worth a few buck$ 🙏 At first I was confused because I remember registering with MB Lawyers but then remembered that was to do with the Data breach.
