Flight Centre are currently advertising PER-JNB return in J for $3,173pp incl all taxes. I have emailed them for more info but does anyone have an idea as to what these flights may be?

Are they going to come back with a QF classic of PER-DXB (Y) and then DXB-JNB (J) or something silly like that?

Then mixed class is my bet. Possibly Jet Airways via SIN; or via DXB.

If it says business class then it should be business class. If it was mixed it would need to be advertised as 'mixed' (simple enough for them to do).

Actually, I think Flight Centre cover themselves very well in the T&C with the statement that sectors could be economy.

But in any case this will definitely be Air Mauritius J all the way. I think the days are restricted to a few days a week though. The one thing I cannot work out is the seating style. Seatguru does not have them, searches show a ****ty recline seat, but there are numerous references on rthe web to a ¨new¨ and ¨fully lie-flat¨ seat being introduced on their A340 and A330 product. I suspect that the flights invloved ex-PER are A330, so could be lie-flat??

To me 'business class fare' with Ts and Cs saying some sectors could be in economy or first would indicate exactly that... a business class fare such as a DONE where aircraft along the way may not operate in the cabin paid for. In those cases you might need to fly in a lower cabin.

It does not extend, in my belief, to sectors where the cabin paid for is available, but you fly in a lower class anyway.

Otherwise you would call it a mixed class fare, rather than business class.

As per post #2, Flight centre are not shy to whack in a disclaimer which I suspect is absolutely watertight, legally.

But this is an Air Mauritius deal, I am sure, so that doesnt enter the equation. Perhaps OP can shed some light on what Flight Centre ended up telling him??

It may be the case, but there is no reason to absolutely think so.

I have seen FC advertise a mixed class fare previously & IIRC they made it quite clear that it was either Y or PE from A to B then J from B to C.

interestingly while googling FC there was a case by the Queensland CAT saying the 'lowest airfare guaranteed or you fly free' is NOT legally enforceable from a contract perspective. Why - because the passenger has no contract with FC if they take in a quote and FC can't beat it. Therefore - at least in QLD - the passenger can't force FC to honour the guarantee.

however - I suspect there would be other grounds for the passenger to take action against FC - perhaps false advertising? Of course the pax may not get the benefit of any ACCC action, but FC might have had a case to answer.
