PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

I'm flying to BKK on 14/11 on CX174 ADL-HKG in Y+.

Would anyone able to see how the loadings are looking for that flight, please; last couple of times I've flown I've been bumped to J and wondered if I might be in with another shot this time.

Are you asking about ADL-HKG or HKG-BKK or both?

Haha, I'm definitely in need of sleep!!
Was more concerned with the ADL-HKG leg, but hey, why not try my luck on the HKG-BKK leg too (CX701). ;)

Both are Y+ - sorry for the confusion esseeeayeenn.

No problem. See the screenshot below.

Looking to get 1 or 2 seats released in J on QF9 and QF10 (MEL-LHR and LHR-MEL respectively) about three weeks apart (could be a little more) on the same flight. If J is not possible then an F seat may be an option. Must arrive in LHR at least a couple of days before 25th June 2017 and leave after 25th June 2017.

Please see the table I have compiled below.
It gives you availability for 7 days each way.
I did it this time but I wouldn't do it again because it is a lot of work to answer what was quite a vague query.

Phew I was dreading doing the same. Thanks ess.... Yes need to be more specific.

Thanks. So with J9 (heaps of unsold seats) all those outbound dates would have a good chance of getting a seat released as WP?

I'd be looking around the 19th/20th June flying out and 3 weeks later flying back (maybe the 10th July?). A bit flexible on dates if that's needed to make it work.

No, I believe the relevant data is the I fare bucket.
So only the 19th is an option for MEL-LHR.

QF10 I0 for 9Jul, 10Jul, I5 11Jul

But I9 for QF2 LHR-DXB only.

Its often the case when only one sector is upgrade potential

Essentially lots of passengers are transiting via DXB into/ out of Europe for the European summer

J4 C4 and nothing else for QF27. Y+ is possibly overbooked as well so upgrades will be hard to come by. QF28 is not even selling any J tickets on GDS now, but Y+ has W9 R7 T1 so that might slightly ease your pain of being stuck in the back.

thanks again andy (and of course QF). Success to J at t-28 (upper deck as well!) :)

Not really interested in only getting the LHR-DXB sector. The reason to get an award seat would mainly be for the longer leg between DXB and MEL/SYD.

I guess I'll have to ring up and have a try. Buying more than 2 J seats would be ridiculously expensive so would prefer to get at least one seat on points. Might have to go for F award on the outbound if J is not possible and try for J for the flight home.
