I've taken a bunch of flights with oneworld/partner airlines in booking classes that don't earn anything under QFF.

These do not ever show on my Qantas activity statement (not even as 0's). Does anyone know if Qantas actually logs/records these flights and chooses not to post them in the activity statement or if the airline flown does not post the flight data to Qantas? Which party is holding back on the data?

I guess you have your QFF number on the booking? If not then I doubt QF would even be aware you've taken said flights.

I've used AA points to book long haul QFi flights and then used my QFF number to select seats. These flights have posted as zeros.

What airlines are you flying that aren't posting?

Yep QF number in the reservations and printed on BP. This has happened for a few carriers : MH, BA and CX.
Not worth chasing because of zero earn but I'd like to know if QF ever sees the flights to begin with.

Weird. My QF flights (in EK metal) appear within ~24hrs while my AA flights (AA number) took about ~48hrs. AS (AS number) took 1 week for the points to come, through.
Having said that, I flew on LAN metal/flight number and am still waiting 2 weeks later. I've just filled in the form on qf.com to chase those points.

Not sure, but I've had non-earning (award) flights on both MH and BA with QFF number attached show on my QF statement. Haven't flown CX yet so don't know about that one.

BA & AA - award flights dont show and both MH and CX 'N' class not showing up along with some other non earning flights.
This has been over the past 2 years. Overall there would be probably 20 that have not appeared.

Do they show in MMB prior to flying?

Not sure of the answer, but I've have put in missing points claims in the past for non-earning flights. They appear shortly thereafter with 0 earn.

Do they show in MMB prior to flying?

Some do, some don't. For example I did a BNE-SYD-SIN-LHR on one PNR and only the bne-syd showed in my activity.
Doesn't worry me a great deal as they are non-earning.

I had some non-earning sectors on QR in 20113 which showed on my statement as 0 points and 0 SCs.
I've never made the mistake of letting an agent book me in non-earning fare buckets again.

Just out of curiosity - if they are non-earning why are you concerned at all?

If this data is not being withheld by the marketing carrier, and QFF is actually getting this data fed to them, there's some analytics that could be done and made useful to an entity like QFF.

One example is the data could be used to support the CRM insights strategy. QF would know where I am in the world and where I am travelling to next. This would directly impact my take up of eDM offers (eg: why send me a epiqure offer if QF knows i never purchase while overseas? Where did I travel to? Is this consistent with previous travel to this destination at similar time of the year? Why didn't I book/pay with QF this time round? Looking at past analytics, combined with my flight search history which is available from a number of reliable sources it's possible to map out my pre-booking journey and de-cypher how much my actual budget to get from XX to YY is) and would reduce marketing wastage, thus increasing conversions and revenue. There is a direct link between this type of data and profits. Simple.

Another example and directly related to me is QF could reverse engineer my flights and look at how many miles/points I am earning through other Oneworld programs. Essentially this is a direct link between Banked Revenue and Lost Opportunity Revenue. A way to prove how much revenue is being left on the table.

There are many other ways to use the data and in my case; assuming QFF data scientists are modelling the right analytics and looking for new money; would be mutually beneficial to QF and myself.

Remember kids... frequent flyers are the product, not the customer.

And how is whether or not the non-earning flights show up in your activity statement relevant to any of this?

If you are booking sale fares on CX that don't earn, over sale fares on QF that do earn, then QF may want to know that and wonder why.

They don't always show for me.

QFF activity statement said:
04 NOV 14 QF 503 BUSINESS 04NOV14 BRISBANE/SYDNEY - - 0 0
04 NOV 14 QF 127 BUSINESS 04NOV14 SYDNEY/HONG KONG - - 0 0

There was an RJ flight HKG-BKK on same day which has not appeared on activity statement.

A few years ago I did fly SYD-HKG-TPE and the CX HKG-TPE flight was non earning on QF and that did show on activity statement.

Another data point, my MEL-LAX-JFK flights last week booked with an AA points redemption appeared very quickly afterwards.
