Flew Etihad business, what is this metal plate for?

Flew Etihad business. They gave me this plate of metal that was cold with the bread, butter, olive/balsamic oil mix before the first course arrives.

I had no idea what to do with it. I asked a crew member. She said "it's just there for anything." I'm not satisfied by this answer, unless it's true.

And I have mixed feelings about the pre-mixed salad dressings.

I like the bottle, because you can emulsify the dressing before application by shaking it (very important or it all goes Pete Tong). Unfortunately, I can't choose the mix ratio, though. That's important to me because acidic things like vinegar give me gout.

I'm seriously thinking of taking a pipette, and removing some vinegar. I'm not looking forward to explaining it to security, however! 🤣
