I really don't see how trees 1.4km from the end of the runway (and not in-line with the runway) can suddenly be a hazard. How tall would a tree that far from the runway need to be to get in the way? Also, planting replacement trees in the park that's significantly closer to the runway doesn't seem like a good long-term solution either but I guess it makes sense to someone from the council.Community Newspaper said:A number of trees in the City of Belmont will be cut down this Saturday after they were identified as airspace hazards.
