First time to visit HongKong. Need some advice

Please do not tip in Hong Kong and China. It is not the US, these people are paid wages. Tip only if the service was truly exceptional - much like in Australia. I pay taxi drivers a little extra if I ask them to slow down and they do as the are foregoing money making time.

Often in international establishments the Doorman or so will hang around in hope. In hope that you are American. Thank him and say good bye. Most leave with a smile (in China anyway). They know they are tryng it on.

If they don't hang aound for a tip and you offer it, it can be quite an insult. You treat him like a begger on the street.

Thank you guys for all your replies. Two days left before heading to HK :p

After some research cheapest way to go is by Airport Bus A21 bus stop's distance to Butterfly on the Prat. The bus stop is actually fairly close to the hotel, about 3 minutes walking. The correct stop to get off is 27 Chatham Road South after Mody Road. Hopefully will help somebody :)

How did the trip go Denis?

I have personally found SIN Airport to be the best place to buy things in Asia at present. The HKG people can be a little too tricky, selling you accessories and other necessities at hugely inflated prices after you have negotiated the deal on the primary purchase.

I love the place, we lived there for some time. Interested to hear your feedback.

Regards

SPRUCE :p
