First lounge Sydney vs First Sakura Narita

Just sitting in Sakura First Narita because NY flight delayed. Yesterday first experienced Qantas First Sydney. I am proud of Qantas - they created exceptional product in comparison to Jal.

But Qantas could learn a lot from JAL's whiskey selection available in their F Lounge.

I'm a big fan of the whiskey choice and the showers at Narita. Also partial to the curry. But no doubt, Qantas has "home base" lounges that are world class.

Did you get a chance to see the new JAL lounge at the satellite building? Have yet to hear many reports on it.
 
The Admirals Club at Narita beats both IMHO. The CX lounge at Narita is a waste of time, no showers.
 
Seriously? Can you get a decent cooked curry in the AC? French Champagne? Full body massages?

The AC is a great lounge for Biz class/OWS but is not a patch on any F lounge.

I completely agree re the CX lounge - i am almost embarrassed for them and just thankful that many people don't realise that they can use other lounges so the JL lounge doesn't get overcrowed :)

Presumably you are oneworld Sapphire so do not generally get access to the lounges referred to in this thread's title.

While the A/C at NT is generally recognised as on of the best Admirals Clubs in the AA network; it is not a patch on the JL First lounge(s) in NRT, nor the First Class QF lounge at SYD.

You would be correct in regard to the CX lounge at NRT.
 
I was last EXP in 2008 and used both F lounges mentioned in this thread routinely... and yes my comment stands. If they have been recently upgraded, fine. The QF First lounge in Sydney was particularly underwhelming. Perhaps JAL have lifted their game recently given troubles they have been having... I'll get to eat my words if true in about a month...

The First Lounge in SYD has been operating from the top floor of the pier since May 2007.

It offers spa treatments (including massages, facials), a la carte menus with full waiter service, "private" rooms etc. (MEL has a smaller version

Thanks for links. Sounds like I must have experienced the latest QF F lounge version then. Did not really knock my socks off (OK, it was OK I guess, but not WoW GeeWizz factor if you get what I mean). My interest in airport lounges is for a quick drink and a shower and that's about it. Check email maybe. I have no interest being guested in on a non-flight day... I think that's hilarious. If I want to relax in a private club atmosphere then you can find me at The Hiroo Club in Tokyo (I'll be the gaijin getting a massage out next to the gym with a couple of giggling young Japanese masseuses). Most J/F lounges I have been in are adequate for my purposes and I don't shop based upon the lounge (but that's just me). In Narita (on topic this thread) my preference has been the AC because it's never crowded when I'm there and the showers are great. Since I have access to the F lounges by virtue I'm flying F through there next I'll go check out the JL lounge. Happy to acknowledge I might be overlooking something special. I'm not here to pick a fight with anyone, on any topic. PEACE.

I would say QF Flounge would be the best example of food and facilities globally. I am not sure how you could possibly say they are underwhelming!!
