Our old house didn't flood (well, presume not, as water levels on Sat weren't much more than Fri).

I think it's a sign that this is the year to justget rid of it.

Severe Tropical Cyclone Marcia (Coral Sea) February 2015 - TECH DISCUSSION - Weatherzone Forums

So why was it touted as category 5?
We were here when exTC Fran which made landfall just north of Bundaberg in March 1992 went through the Sunshine coast. It was category 2 when it crossed the coast but the wind was much worse than we experienced with Marcia.

UITA, can't see any problems with a frog - I'm sure I'd have posted one if I could have packed one. Rain was over yesterday and today was very humid. Lots of water flushed through our local creeks so will check them out tomorrow morning

Climate researcher questions Cyclone Marcia’s category 5 status

Dr Morahasy, who has previously clashed with the bureau over official temperature records used in arguments over global warming, said the warning should have been revised down to a category 3 given wind speeds recorded at Middle Percy Island were well below a category 5.“It’s important that the people of Yeppoon who think they’ve been through a category 5 know they’ve only been through a weak category 3,’’ she said.
“Don’t get me wrong, Yeppoon was really badly battered, but category 5 cyclones kill and we can tell it wasn’t a category 5 on the surface readings and by the extent of the damage.”

I wonder why only 100 army people were sent to this disaster zone, what were all the others doing?.

Think a 1000 and 100 big trucks would be more like it.

Just walking my dog along the path in the reserve near our house when I heard a rustling and saw my first koala in a long time - looked very healthy. He was off to find another tree. Good to see it survived the storm and that it has its home range here :D
