Fantatic offer from Lufthansa!
MEL - SFO (UA F) SFO - FRA (LH F) FRA - LHR (LH J) LHR- BER (LH J) BER - FRA (LH J) FRA - BKK (LH F) BKK - MEL (F)

MILES & MORE MEMBER I ENDED UP WITH 82,500 POINTS!

The fare you may ask? Only $6777 + $510 for 2 add on sectors in Europe (you get 2 free) + tax

UA F was better than expected, TG F was the pitts! LH was the best ever!

So forget One World!

Or yes J class for same travel was only $5300! However for tripple points for F class travel and under $1500 additonal go F class!

Bring back Lufthansa!

They also offer the same thing in economy for something like $1700 plus tax, so it's a very good offer (although doesn't have quite the flexability of a oneworld or *alliance RTW).

You must have been unlucky and scored a pre-retrofitted TG aircraft. Their first is generally very good (certainly a hell of a lot better than UA)

hey this fare seems great!

What website is it available at?

Any TA can get that fare (or similar) with LH. Just remember while more flexible than some europe round trip fares, it is not as flexible as a round the world fare (eg limited routings through asia and us, no side trips except in europe, limits on stopovers and airlines, etc).

True. It is not a true RTW airfare... Are there any other "cheap" alternatives around though? I usually fly QANTAS and the various Oneworld fares are fairly expensive in comparison.

NB, I only have ~110,000 QFF points, otherwise I'd organise a RTW through that.

One other thing to be wary of is that Lufthansa's Fuel "tax" is high...

There are many, many different RTW products.

OW RTWs
- One World Explorer (xONEx), continent based, very flexible (eg backtracking), 20 sectors, but only OW airlines
- Global Explorer (xGLOBx), mileage based, more restrictive (eg no backtracking), 20 sectors, some codeshares allowed, cheaper than xONEx

*A RTWs
- xRWSTARx, mileage based, more flexible than xGLOBx (eg backtracking) but less flexible than xONEx (due to mileage limitation), 24 sectors, *A airlines and some codeshares, cheaper than comparable xONEx
- Star Lite, economy version, more restrictive than xSTARx but cheaper

ST RTWs
- not familiar with these

Airline RTWs
- many different combinations of airlines, some are very odd combos (eg different alliances, some not even codeshare partners), more restrictive than the alliance RTWs, cheaper than alliance RTWs (some are much much cheaper)
- egs UA/EK, SQ/NZ/VS, SQ/NZ/VS/LH, SQ/CO, etc

Is there a web site that can give this info out. I can not justify $14K F class with STAR or One World when I use the UA/LH/TG for around $7000, is there any similar F class fare?

You need a good TA. From Australia I doubt you can do much better than A$7000 for first. Remember the fare you have is not a true RTW, just a flexible round trip to europe. Generally you pay more to get extra flexibility.

However, if you can start it from (some) other countries (eg BKK) then you certainly can do much better.
