The latest ESET upgrade also sneakily upgraded my Firefox to v. 43 (I think it was v.28 before; I'm still using XP). Mostly OK so I'll probably stick with it, but some websites come up in text form with no clickable links. So far TripAdvisor and realestate.com have done this: what they have in common is links to other websites, e.g. to Booking.com and real estate vendors. They are also heavy in images. These still work OK in Chrome, but I use Chrome as a last resort as I've never got the hang of how it works. So I really would like to get Firefox working for all websites. Any suggestions?

Am also used to using Bing as my search engine. This Firefox requires a new version of Bing but I can't install that without removing the old Bing and I can't find out how to do that, beyond taking it off the list of search engine options, which isn't sufficient, it seems. DukDuckGo would be an alternative, but I can't get it to search just Australian sites. As for Google, it offers me everything in French, presumably because I last used it via an Android mobile from France!

Perhaps clearing cache/cookies (and losing login information in the process) might help?

I've just checked and I'm on version 47.0.1 with an update downloading in the background!

Version 48 looks to be the latest release.

Done that already (and cleared history too). Makes no difference (exc. for pain of recalling log-ins!). I think Firefox 43 is as high as I can go with my legacy set-up, or if not that, then as far as is still recognizable from what I was used to. Anyway, that's what ESET Security selected for me.
