FINNAIR Schedule change 2022/2023 - impact on Rewards Bookings

Were you able to get it ticketed immediately via QF call centre or were you placed in the queue? I was placed in the queue yesterday. Still no e-ticket confirmation.
of course they said ticket would come through in 24-248 hours. I called again just shy of 24 hours to chase it up.. don't leave it too long

Have had an exhausting week dealing with QF over the phone re getting this schedule changed ticketed. Essentially, instead of ticketing the new AY flight from Haneda to Helskinki, the SA call centre operator actually cancelled that part of the 2xJ reward booking. This is despite me confirming x2 times that I did not want this to happen. When it disappeared from MMB - I knew something was wrong. I called back and got someone in Fiji - who read through the notes and worked out the previous person had cancelled that part of the trip. She suggested if they can't get the sector they would have to cancel the whole trip and refund to which I said no no no. This is your error - you need to fix it, politely of course. Eventually, (1h45min call back and forth on hold with the service centre) a D class flight 'on request' turned up in MMB for this sector. She did say somewhere along the call 'not your fault'. Anyway - I imagine this is now with Finnair for their consideration. Its exhausting and stressful as I spent weeks planning and securing these flights and making sure I got them with the right connections. I am really starting to question the value of QF FF at the moment. It should not be such hard, stressful work. I even offered alternatives routes/QF metal options which they were not interested in pursuing. I'm giving myself a week off before I chase up this 'on request' flight'! I imagine Finnair has a million of them!

I got the dreaded email from AY a couple of days ago, saying that my award J flight CPH-HEL-BKK in May had changed.

Both flights had been moved forward by several hours, which was not a problem for me, but I did wonder how Qantas might handle this. So I went onto the QF website and pressed the "Accept Changes" button, and, lo and behold" a new ticket was issued immediately.

I was a little surprised given Qantas' recent history, but a new ticket number was also confirmed in the AY website.

So, let's wait for the next change, given AY's new strategy for returning to profitability (essentially downsizing).

I’ve got my change as well, which is a later flight of my HEL-CDG leg in May 23 due to AY142 BKK-HEL changing it’s schedule so mct can’t be met.

As I’m travelling the first part of my owa I don’t want to accept the change as comms are limited at the moment and I’m worried qf will fudge the reticket.

I have a HEL > KIX (Osaka) rewards flight booked for May 2023. I'm still pretty nervous their osaka seasonal flight might get canned at some point, but i remain hopeful..... for now...
Remaining hopeful was a mistake.
Ah well, managed to change it to a JL flight in J to Hanada.

Hello all - I have had changes made on 2 Finnair flights on my OWA. 2 cancelled and rescheduled with new flight numbers.

Does this mean it needs to be reticketed? I have QR flights to Europe and don't want to risk losing them.

I see no option to accept booking on the site but to call which maybe due to my connecting flight now -4 hours

We now arrive in Tokyo Handa missing our JL NRT-MEL fligt by 4 hours. Do I just wait for Qantas / JL to hopefully put us on JL051 19.20 HAN-SYD-MEL best option I can see? Or do I try and orchestrate it myself?

Advice welcome.. Kate

Just an update for anyone following this. After several rounds of 'we have put a request through to Finnair and you will get a eticket in 24 hours/a call back' which results in neither, I rang again yesterday and was told (perhaps honestly this time) 'You will just have to wait'. I could not be bothered arguing. I wonder if this is their long game - wear people down that they are so exhausted from dealing with inept/hostile call centre staff and make other arrangements. Seems to me the chance of Finnair releasing award seats gets lower each day. I might take a day off work and go deep in the matrix. One thing for certain, I am done with being loyal to QF with my travel and award points/cards. I'm finished . I'm through. I cannot deal with a company that treats its customers (and staff!) with such contempt.

So I had this same issue of not having this change ticketed. Had a lot of calls with Cape Town / Fiji. One of them even said that I had to pay extra taxes/fees for this involuntary change because “thats what the computer was telling him”. Still didn’t get anywhere until I somehow won the lottery and got through to Hobart as a lowly bronze member. The lady I got knew exactly what to do and 15 mins later I received the updated eticket into my email.

I am thinking mine might even be beyond just ticketing now, as my flight status with AY is 'Requested'/ on request. Was yours a partner reward or on QF metal ? Thanks.
