Yeah, I have. Didn't love it, didn't hate it. Search here as it has been discussed before on a SIN topic. Personally I prefer the QF lounge, but others have their own opinions.
Thanks Mal. Before posting I tried searching AFF for skyview and it did not return any results!

Why not go through immigration and walk outside? It's another stamp in your passport from a friendly country, and I doubt they would even care about a <2/3 hr turnaround.
Thanks for reminding me. I have a pair of 2004 SIN immigration stamps in my passport but they are getting very lonely with a whole page to themselves.

So did I just then. Couldn't find it. I replied to a post regarding the SIN lounges. Maybe it was posted on FT? If I find it, I'll change this post!

I tried searching FT but have no access!

Also looking at BKK and HKG lounge access when travelling Finnair I notice

Finnair web site said:
BANGKOK
Qantas Club Lounge
P, G, S, FC, BC
Terminal 2, transit area.
Open 3 hours prior to Finnair flight departures.
As I have 3 business class flights on 3 different days I will visit this lounge each day only shame it is the QF lounge. Not a QC member, anyone see any other possibilities. CX lounge? Probably not!

Finnair web site said:
HONG KONG
Dragonair Lounge
P, G, S, FC, BC
7th floor, departure hall.
Open daily 06.00 - 22.00
I think serfty has already recommended this one whereas Mal suggests to try and get in to the CX lounge. Hmm. If I don't have time for the trip to Hong Kong City I think I will pay a visit to the dragonair lounge.

The discussion was actually a lot smaller than I thought :)

Think you're stuck in that lounge, unless you can talk your way into the QF/BA one. Even as a QP member you wouldn't be able to get into the Qantas one (unless flying on the QF codeshare for the AY flight) I'm in BKK in mid March and will visit the Cathay one at least once for a look around. Will see if I can report back what the J side looks like. You could also look at some other posts here and elsewhere on the BKK Cathay Lounge.

I still think the Cathay one closest to your gate would be a better lounge. As discussed recently on other forums, they seem to have an "open door" policy for other OW flights in J/F.

Only issue with that lounge is that the flight may not be listed on the monitors so you have to watch your time.

See the Cathay website here http://www.cathaypacific.com/intl/airport/lounges/0,,,00.html for more details on the 2 HKG lounges.

Ah yes I remember now. So the CX/AY lounge it is in SIN.

No problem I am stuck with the Qantas club lounge in BKK. It will be interesting to see what the lounges will look like in the new BKK airport when it finally opens. Hopefully a little more exciting!

No worries in HKG I will visit the Dragonair lounge and I will also try to visit the CX lounge if trip into the city does not eventuate.

Thanks for you help Mal.

I visited the Skyview lounge at SIN a couple of days ago. Great view but apart from that much worse than the QF lounge. Modest selection of food and drink. Some computers, couple of showers. Its open to the main terminal (no wall) and higher so a bit warmer than the other SIN lounges.

The CX dim sum was not as good as SQ dim sum, and no Dom. No prize for guessing which lounge I gravitated towards :D

Question is if you had no choice would you still visit it?

Sure - its not a bad lounge. Its just I would rank it behind SQ and QF at SIN.

As I don't have a choice on which lounge to access it will have to be the Skyview lounge in SIN!

Get those extra 500SC's and you'll be able to check out QF/BA J lounges next time.

For food I rate the Skyview lounge better than the QF/BA J lounge. For facilites such as showers/internet/space the BA/QF J lounge is better.

(I do not have access to any SQ lounge.)

I will have the extra 500SC's when I pass through SIN on way back to Australia. I only have a 1.5 hour transit before MEL-SIN flight, barely enough time to get to transit desk for check-in and buy some duty free, and QF Gold status would not have posted anyway.

Next trip I will definately be checking out those lounges.

Sounds good.

I noticed on FT someone mentioned that they can book I class fares with AY. I assume these are business class fares! I thought there was only full business J class and business flex D class.

AY is selling BKK-HKG-BKK for 9150 THB+tax in I-class

I booked D class for 12,735 baht so the I class fares will come in a lot cheaper.

I can't see how to book I class fares through Finnair website. Anyone have any suggestions?

Probably through a BKK based Travel agent. I'm not sure that AY publish their fares from BKK-HKG-BKK, so unlikely to turn up on many online booking engines.

Here is one example of a BKK agent selling I class AY fares:

http://www.traveller2000.com/thailand/international/airfares/promotion.asp

Although, they claim it is : "5400 Baht" (plus I assume tax etc).

An amazing deal...

I have only seen them on their own website and zuji. But then again there are not too many other booking engines I try.

I find these amazing almost unbelievable. Especially considering I have already purchased 3 D class return fares for around A$1300.

BKK-HKG-BKK at 5400 baht plus taxes of ~640 baht makes this airfare 6000 baht (A$206 for 120SC's @ A$1.71/SC) and BKK-SIN-BKK at 4250 baht plus taxesof ~640 baht makes this airfare 4890 baht (A$168 for 120SC's @A$1.40/SC).

I wonder if these fares are truly available (or limited release) and if anyone has purchased these fares.

I assume my D class fares are fully refundable?

Do not count on that. Being Discount, there are often special T&C for these fares, which at the very least may mean a 'fine' for cancellation.

J = Full business fare
D = Discounted business fare
I = Industry discounted business fare

I is a discounted business class with heavy restrictions (e.g. It's possible they don't allow changes or refunds). Check with AY.

I have done a little more research and I guess you have booked a Business Saver Fare:
Changes permitted. Cancellation may be restricted. Cancellation fee may apply. Flights must be taken in the sequence shown on the ticket.

Thanks BlacKnox and serfty.

My booking is the Business Flex Fare. So I can cancel but a cancellation fee may apply.

I have sent booking request for the I class fare from Thai website with exactly same dates I have already booked in D class. I am waiting on reply for seating availability and price.
