I might have missed a memo somewhere but is AY stopping services to HKG imminently?

I was looking for flights in Jan or Feb and can't find the AY HKG-HEL services. Instead, they seem to be replaced by a codeshare operated by CX to BKK, connecting to their own metal ex-BKK.

If true, a real bummer if wanting to fly only oneworld metal ex-MEL on the AY fare to Europe as currently the only way to do this is MEL-HKG on CX or QF. (edit: unless wanting to add an extra stop via SYD)

Where is Travelguru - he'll know.

Come to think of it I haven't seen him online for a while.

I am seeing plenty of flights in Feb at finnair.com.

I am seeing them now on finnair.com too. They weren't there yesterday. *phew*

I think the finnair website is really buggy... I've been trying to book a J fare with a QF connection, select it and when I move to payment page it changes to a Cathay connection in Y!!

Annoying...

Pity the poor first-or even twentieth-timer looking at some of these threads: acronyms and jargon proliferate to a bewildering degree on too many occasions.

They could just type abbreviations in the search box and be taken to a list of them immediately. They could also just ask.

Personally if a low count poster raises a question I avoid the abbreviations but if a high count poster asks a question I dont waste their and my time bulking out the fastest and shortest answer.

Sounds good.

I still can't find the flights in Sabre. They might have taken their flights offline for a major schedule update?

How many people on this forum have actual GDS access? Have seen a couple of members say they are travel agents on the side but would be interesting to know....

Not a TA here. I first got Sabre access through a subscription-based agency in the US, got the link off Flyertalk. That wasn't super useful as a lot of bookings these days are SITI (Sold Inside Ticketed Inside - so you'd need to be associated with an Australia-based agency to sell ex-Australia fares for instance). Currently I get access to Sabre through my employer's corporate TA which makes it easier to do ex-Australia bookings.
