Finally the Drrons are off on a Real OS Trip

Went to a wedding at Chijmes several years ago. One of Mrs NoName’s friends. Was a great venue.

Side note: we were married at Four Seasons in Orchard Boulevard.

Friday night and back to the gold lounge. Didn't really feel like much to eat so just had some sushi. Plus of course wine. The wines were quite good. Mrsdrron had a Xanadu Sav Blanc. The first night I had a Xanadu Cab sav but tonight the wred was a chianti or St.Hallets Gamekeepers Reserve. The Chianti was awful and I hold St. Hallets dear to my heart as that winery was responsible for me becoming a Physician.
The view when we got there.

Back in the morning for breakfast and being Saturday the cricketers had taken over the Padang.

Having stayed at both, I think we prefer the Fullerton to the Fullerton Bay.

Unfortunately some of the plaques are really too hard to read but there was a very old chinese man here that read this out aloud. I think he knew it by heart. He was though reading it out aloud for the group of Japanese tourists who were present. The Memorial is for a Chinese General who came to Singapore with his parents when he was 15. After the fall of Singapore he fled to China and joined the Nationalist forces fighting the Japanese.
After a while he was sent to join the forces operating inside of Malaya. In March 1944 he was captured by the Japanes and tortured for 3 months before dying.
The older Singaporean Chinese have little respect for the Japanese.

Some more memorials.

You look like you’re getting great weather.

Facebook keeps reminding me of a trip there exactly this time of year 5 yrs ago. The weather was the best I ever experienced in Singas.
