FINALLY! - Citi launching Citi Prestige with Visa Infinite

random data point.

citi processed amount was 3.78% higher than bank corporate FX rate offered. citi point cost approx 0.7c, converted to an SQ point cost of 1.09c

Quick question, the 5 point per $1 spend, does it apply to all purchases processed by overseas merchant regardless of its currency (e.g. incl AUD)?

e.g. Groupon uses an overseas merchant acct to process its purchases in AUD, I wonder if that counts as overseas spend or local spend.

No idea sorry villemus.

Got annual fee halved by calling, asking to speak to someone about cutting a better deal a few weeks prior to annual fee falling due. No bonus points but I didn't push v hard either, happy to pocket the $350 discount and run. Approx $150k annual spend.

Not sure if it varies between merchants, but in my experience you DO get the bonus points with an o/s merchant even if you pay in AUD.

My Prestige arrived this week so, to make sure I get the most of the benefits I booked a limo pick up.

My understanding is that only the account holder can have a complientary limo (and/or Meet & Greet) twice per calendar year. On calling, I was informed that there could be 4 passengers in the car but a supplementary card holder would be free.
As welcome as this sounds, it seems to go against the T&Cs.

Has anyone experienced what happens when booking the car for one and then other passengers are also there for the pick up? Any experience of a supplementary card holder being one of the passengers?

My guess is that it would be hit and miss how they handle it but at an outrageous US$300+ for additional person Meet & Greet according to the yQ web-site I'd like to know beforehand.

I used meet and greet earlier this year for my wife and I. They let me use my 2 freebies for the two of us for the one time arrival. There were also 2 of us for each limo pick up.

gizzard when we have used the limo service I have sent off a standard type format to Concierge advising date / time / pax / flt etc - never been a prob with 2 pax - I am at home now but will post the format I use later when I get to office.

Edit: Below is the format I use book Limo service for both departure and arrival - I think this pretty well covers all information they require:

As I posted earlier in this thread our house is way outside the 30km range for service in MEL so home to MEL / MEL to home nor viable for us - the last time I used it we were actually at Topolinos Restaurant in St Kilda on a Sat night then I Limoed out to MEL to catch the SQ midnight flt - PERFECT.

I just put this format together and you may want to vary - but basic content should get you over the line without any questions being asked.

Hi Gizzard,

I used the complementary limo from Osaka airport to Osaka city and from Tokyo to Narita last month. My wife, 2 kids and myself travelled at no extra cost for the 2 limo trips. Citibank were happy as long as the 4 of us and our luggage could fit in one sedan.

does the hilton gold offer roll over each year regardless of whether you qualify? looking at booking a 6 night stay in the maldives next year, so it's about a $600 saving if we don't have to pay for breakfasts each morning for the 2 of us.

Hello Folks, Would any of you know whether prestige covers primary CDW for rental cars. Looked at quite a few places, but unable to find relevant information. Thanks

No. If your rental is in US or Canada (or a country with a similar system), then Prestige (and pretty much all Aussie CCs that I know of) will not cover LDW or CDW. Prestige policy only covers an excess, which assumes that the rental car has insurance already (as all rentals in Australia do).

So if the rental has insurance included then Prestige will cover the excess in the event of loss, but if there's no insurance (ie no CDW or LDW), then Prestige won't cover anything.

Where are you renting?

Hello brains trust

Limo Service

Is that twice per calendar year or twice per rolling 12-mo ?

I have trips that straddle the NY

Per calendar year would be nice, would extract 4 trips out of 2015-2016

Thanks

PS: got the info - twice per calendar year but only until 31 Dec 2015 !

Renting here in Australia. The arrival of extended family for visit to Australia is requiring me to rent a car for 2 weeks while they use mine.

Then you're probably not covered by the Prestige policy. The PDS requires that your rental take place on either an international or interstate trip which is charged to your card. If you're just renting in your home town then I'm pretty sure you'll need other coverage if you want the excess reduced. Most of the CCs require the rental to be on a trip of some description, so I'm not sure a CC policy will bear much fruit. Probably best just paying the rental car company to reduce the excess if you're concerned enough. Or you could just wing it :)

Just received Citi Presttife/Infinate
Has anyone had any luck removing the $700 with an offer to invest in one of their financial products eg cash management trusts or whatever

Tossing up between this card and the amex plat. has anyone used the concierge service to make last minute restaurant reservations with any success? What are the business/first airfare discounts they mention like vs retail? Does anybody have any comparison/comments with the prestige vs the amex plat?

Thanks to all who have contributed in previous posts, has answered a lot of questions.

Also, is there a similar Amex scheme where bonus points/reward are available when being referred by a customer?

Throw $100K in a citi transaction/savings account and you'll be CitiGold which lowers the $700 to $350. Cash only needs to be there for few weeks. Borrow from a friend/mortgage etc. if you need to.

From there it's simple - get both!

Wonder if you could book a limo service (say for your kids) but you (and the supplementary card holder) are not traveling ?

The T & C says primary / supp card holder only but would they ask to see the physical card on pick up ??

It's stretching the rule book I know.

Thanks

Our Citibank Prestige cards are very easy to use compared with an American Express card. Our biggest problem is staying inside the credit limits and nothing else.
