Flew down to Mel for SYD this mooring and saw my old pet hate. The pax in 1B with her terrible blue coloured sneakers firmly planted on the bulkhead. Her sole was touching the reading material pocket.

I think thats disgusting and expect better from a women in her 60's. I was tempted to ask if she would do it do it at home but bit my tongue.

Am I weird thinking this?

It's not her equipment and furniture so why would she care?
I gather she had the middle seat out of 3 (738) in J.
Very disrespectful. There are so many things that could be said, but I too will bite my tongue.

Wierd, not really, but would suggest you really need to get over it. People sometimes do strange things in public, but if it's not against the law then you really have no right to try and impose your opinion on them (and that's true even if I happen to agree with that opinion).

And what's the point in commenting on the fact her sneakers are a terrible blue colour, are you a fashionista as well?

You know what I hate? Keyboard warriors. They see something they don't like but don't have the guts to speak up about it at the time and directly to the people concerned. Instead they go online and whinge about it.

</removes tongue from cheek>

This p1sses me off greatly as well. Especially when they are bare feet - disgusting!!!!

How is this relating solely to the QFF - does it not occur on all airlines?

I assume you were on a QF flight, so apart from that fact, what on earth does this have to do with QF and QFF? This could be any airline, anywhere in the world!

Well actually i think it was more the socks after the sneakers came off.
It was QF flight so I picked this thread, sorry if it's posted in the wrong spot..

I see pax with their shoes on the bulkhead all the time. At least this lady had the courtesy to remove them first and it's not like she was barefoot, so what is the problem here exactly?

I don't see anything wrong with that at all. If they are even reasonably clean, it won't hurt anything. I would totally do that at home too :)
I think you are being way too sensitive. Relax. Live and let live :)

Revolting. I pity the next passengers in that seat, for up to a week (see article). After perusing the Qantas magazine and depositing on their hands whatever she had on the underside of her shoes, then the snack comes around and the shoe-hands-mouth chain is complete.
One obviously needs to carry hand wash on board.

That's why I carry anti-bacterial wipes whenever I travel, and especially on aircraft. I wipe down all surfaces my hands are likely to get in contact with.

It certainly does. I was on a US Airways flight recently and a man had his feet on top of the first class pod. Am glad I wasn't sitting in front of him.

as as the photo clearly shows she was in her socks, I don't think you need to be too worried.

personally, I think this is all an overreaction. Someone puts their feet on the bulkhead (which for us short people is just a comfortable length to stretch out our legs) and this affects you how? If you find the sight so offensive, avert your eyes!

and yes, I do put my feet up at home!

But this isn't at one's home. You can do whatever you want in your own home. This is public transport. A little civic-mindedness and consideration for the next passenger who will have to take that seat wouldn't be out of place in modern society.

Who is to say the socks are any more or less hygienic then bare feet? A bit of courtesy wouldn't hurt here.

And how exactly does it affect the next passenger? Are they licking the bulkhead?
