I'm booking a SYD - PER one way on Qantas (red edeal) and am not 100% sure I can fly on that date (as I might need to work), however I want to book now before ticket prices go up.

If I can't make the flight, can I change the ticket date online for free (ill give about a weeks notice)?. I know if you book online and change over the phone it costs A$40, however can't see any charges for online booking changes.

I know Virgin just announced some new planes to Perth, however I see they charge about $60 for a date change which is ~30% of the ticket fare!

Thanks for any help.

No you can't change a rededeal for free. Change fee ($50) and any fare difference, can't be changed on the same day.

Yep similar to virgin. Of course, if you are sure you won't need to change the flight on the same day it is still cheaper than a fully flex fare.
