Just returned from travelling 4 legs on MH as a QF WP. Was a bit sceptical about any extra beneficial treatment due to status, mainly due to the apparent discord between the two carriers around the time MH became a Oneworld member and the Emirates deal was going through.

However my partner and I recieved complimentary upgrades to J on 3 out of 4 flights, a strike rate thousands of times better than I've recieved on QF International (or Domestic), including the CDG - KUL leg on the A380, where I would have assumed that there would have been plenty of Enrich members with priority over us.

All in all, bringing MH into Oneworld has been thoroughly positive for me:
  • Cheapest return economy flights to Europe by a country mile
  • 75% strike rate on upgrades to date

Considering I live in Perth, and that Qantas have kindly reduced my international flight options (excl. JQ) to Singapore or Singapore, ill be happy to keep booking tickets through MH in the near future.

Cheers,
TF

Impressive.

As a counterweight,
I am 0 of 4 on MH domestic however.

My brother who is WP is 0/8

When I was WP I was 0/3 and as SG I'm 0/5 haha

Hmmm.... Was either the new haircut or the way I looked deeply and intently into the check-in girls eyes

Either way, not complaining.

Well done.

Personally I think it is extremely lucky. Just like the time I was upgraded both legs SYD-BKK return as a Qantas Silver.

FWIW my strike rate on MH at present is 0 as I have only flown business and did not get upgraded to an empty first class cabin twice. Not planning to fly MH economy in the near future to see if that strike rate improves.
