Depending on the airline and itinerary, i think you can even check in at GZ and ferry to sky pier. That said i don't think you can easily go landside HK doing this though.The intown checkin at Hong Kong is great...last year we arrived from Guangzhou by train. Checked in our bags at Central, wandered around HK with only our carryon, then took the train to the airport for our evening flight![]()
Late 80s, Qantas had in town check in at the Hyatt on Collins Melbourne and The Regent Hotel (now Four Seasons) Sydney.When Tulla first opened, both Ansett and TAA had in town check in. They were adjacent to each other in A'Beckett Street. Check your bags, get on a bus and off you'd go. (Had to do your own bags inbound.)
In 1977 I paid $20(!) to use the service.
