Hi all,

Thought I would share what I think is my favourite passport stamp. I know there are a lot out there that I have never seen but I'm confident that few are as beautiful as this.

You are required to sign the bottom of the stamp acknowledging the pledge.

My favorite is from the Cayman Islands - I can't find my old passport that contains it, but here's a version I found online. It doesn't have the lovely sentiment of the Palau one, but who can resist a peg-legged turtle? :)

Haven't travelled to a country that stamps passports in years, unfortunately it seems to be a lost tradition.

Nice thread.

Is the Palau stamp relatively new? If not, I wonder how they got the former plane loads of mainland Chinese to agree…🤔

From my personal stamps I’d have to say the Seychelles stamp of a local coconut which just looks like a bum still makes me smile when I see it… yes I’m a simple person.

Happily many still do, at least BC. Turkmenistan, Iran, Tajikistan ... all that lot; EU does (did), India, USA (B1/B2 visa), Turkey

I'll try and find my old passport but the Maldives has a really nice one! I believe it was something like a coral reef with turtles and fish swimming at the bottom.

Had a tshirt from my one CI visit yonks ago - the national bird, a mosquito ..

I liked mine from one of the stations in Antarctica. I need to find an old passport that I had when I went into Hungary in the 80s. I forgot to take the visa I'd applied for and didn't realise until I got to the border and got hauled off the bus. The border guard took me over to the little office and couldn't get the sliding door to open so handed me my papers and his gun while he lifted the door off (no idea why he had his gun out). He looked at my passport and said skippy Kangaroo laughed and stamped it and off I went.

Wow I am jealous! We went to Svalbard in February and the only stamp we received was one in Tromso. As much as we love Tromso we would have loved a Svalbard stamp!
Did you arrive by ship?
We sailed from Scotland, so didn't land on the Norwegian mainland. We stopped at a few places in the Lofoten Islands, but Svalbard was the end of that trip, where we disembarked.

What a great trip! No we flew in from Oslo and had to disembark at Tromso where we went through passport control.

We went in February and loved it!
