Favorite paint jobs on aircraft types

ANZ 787 in black & the ANA Star Wars livery (R2D2 is my fave; just saw it in NYC) are two of my all time favourites. I do think for standard liveries, QF is really nice.

In addition, I'm a sucker for throwback liveries on new planes.

NZ have one of each type operated in the black livery I believe...

I like it. It can't be practical..but it is stylish. I also like Norwegians tail "tributes" to people.

To date I haven't been impressed with any special livery on any A380.

However, ANA seems to have addressed this with what I consider a fully painted special livery for an A380... coming soon.

Now that looks like an expensive paint job!

On a serious note I do love the new EY livery - and this photo shows it off better.

As a novelty it's hard to go past the Pepsi Concorde.

And just out of interest I found this photo which includes an interesting design for a QF 787.

Obviously we won't see that in the sky as it features the old roo.
Shame.

Forgive the quality of the photo - bad light, camera phone and behind terminal glass - but I do love the KLM retro livery. This was at NCL at the tail end of last year.

The Qantas livery on a 747 is just about perfect, I reckon.

The only thing that comes close is an MD-80 in the classic AA livery. Those planes really look like they are going somewhere.
