Hope someone can steer me in the right direction here. I have an ANZ credit card (Amex + Visa combination) which earns me 1 point per $1 spect at Woolworths, Dick Smiths, etc as they accept the Amex card. The Visa only earns 1 point for ever $4 spent, but this card is more widely accepted. I pay all my bills and outlays with the cards, but it seems to take forever to gain points. I have explored the other ANZ cards, but don't qualify for the income minimum as I am retired.
I am due to renew my cards in January 2012, so would be keen to moved to another financial institution if I could get more points. Can anyone here suggest some possibilities?
I would like to stick with Qantas ( if possible) for domestic and overseas future travel.

HSBC Qantas Platinum card - $199 annual fee, 1 point per $1, with 2 points per $1 on Qantas and all overseas purchases.

Woolworths card as already mentioned.

I'd also consider having an Amex branded card - the Qantas Ultimate card is $450 per year but earns 1.5 points per dollar plus a bonus point on Qantas purchases, and also includes an annual return domestic flight. Or the Amex Platinum Reserve card is $395, comes with a Virgin annual domestic return flight (does also include some international like NZ from the east coast) and 1.5 points per $1.

The other option would be to upgrade your ANZ card to Gold or Platinum which would increase the fee and also the points earn, but the Visa still won't earn as much as the options mentioned here.
