I have recently booked my first FASA to the F1 GP in Singapore in September (SYD -> SIN -> SYD). Saw the FASA there at a reasonable points spend and thought 'why not, probably the only time I will ever get the chance to travel in the 'F' cabin on an A380'.

My question is this, I have the FASA booked on one reference number, and my flights BNE -> SYD on a seperate reference number (AMEX yearly complimentary flight). I get to SYD around 12:00pm and the flight to SIN leaves at 16:10pm. Will having two seperate reference numbers prevent me from getting to the 'F' lounge nice and early and enjoying some perks? I am thinking not, I will only have carry-on, so no checked luggage, so am guessing I can just transfer from Domestic to International and head upstairs for some pampering :D

Can anyone advise what I can expect food wise on the A380 to Singapore?

Thanks in advance, cant wait for September !! Now all we need is Webber to get up as well :D

Should be no issues QF-QF, Have both itins available - you really are travelling BNE-SIN via SYD.

I did the same thing earlier this year:D

I called the WP desk & got them to link the bookings....this is more for the return flight, due to possible delays.

Did OLCI & when I arrived at BNE, I got the J desk to print me real BP's......not a drama.

I did the degustation meal on the SYD-SIN leg - very enjoyable.

The First Host will call you the day before to confirm any bookings you require.....good for spa bookings & for making a note for the crew if you would like the 8 courses.

Wise choice to transit through SYD....BNE Flounge is the pits!

Enjoy.

When you check in at Brisbane domestic check in at the desk as opposed to OLCI or next gen kiosk checkin. Explain your situation to the check in agent. Then they will be able to check you in for both flights, but they'll want to sight your passport.

I'd suggest calling in to have your itineraries linked. That means you'll be automatically reaccommodated if anything happens.

I don't believe that is the case. Separate PRN's doesn't mean travel is on the one booking. One booking means automatic reaccommodation.

If the Sydney to Brisbsne leg is stuffed up they are not obliged to rebook the Sydney Singapore leg.

Of course that won't happen as the OP has plenty of flight options and time, but the effect of linking means ground will know what is going on and MAY reorganize onward travel if things go pear shaped.

It is always a good idea to let ground know from whence one is approaching.

The F1 in Singapore is a great weekend, Its really enjoyable, I did it last year and ended up at the F1 post party on the Sunday with some of the drivers.
I will interested to hear how you rate the A380 in F, I will be flying LHR - MEL F for the first time in January.

Enjoy the trip and a tip would be to go to the Mandarin Oriental on the Friday for coughtail happy hour, they provide the best steak sandwiches free while you enjoy awesome coughtails with fellow F1 fans. Then its right in front of a gate to the track for practice session.

Cheers,
