I'm on assignment in Japan and have a couple of trips home planned. Have my QF ticket for trip at the end of next week but am trying to book a trip home to MEL from NRT or HND for early Oct. The cheapest seems to to be CX but I fear it is in a class that only gets 0.5 QF points. As deep as I go into the CX booking process (with different priced economy fares), I cannot see a fare code.

Is there some other way to find the fare code that matches the price I am able to pay for this self-funded trip?

Thanks

I do believe CX show the fare codes with their on line booking engine.

Where are you looking?

I had this same problem the other day, no matter what I did it kept booking me into discount economy 'L' class I think.
Changed my search from 'must travel on these dates' to 'flexible with dates' and all booking classes showed up.

Hope this helps...

The CX website itself. It has categories Economy Supersaver, Economy Save, Economy Core etc but I'm not seeing the codes that equate to the QF FF website that tells you the points awarded (o.5, 1.0. etc).

Thanks

Firstly, the Airline earning tables that matches fare buckets to what you earn on QFF can be found here.

In terms of determining which fare bucket your ticket is in on CX, these are shown on the fare/itinerary details screen when booking online after the class name. Fares in Y generally need to be booked as economy special or above to earn.

Hope that answers your question.

After selecting your flights it shows the "View fare details" page and alongside each segment under "Class" it show the fate 'descriptor' and the actual booking class.

e.g.

FWIW, CLasses BHKLMV classes earn at 0.5 with QFF; only Y class earns at 1.0
