Apologies for the slight cross post, but this is a specific question for the pundits.
Booking a QF business sale fare. If one leg of the itinerary is economy on American Airlines as a QF codeshare, what fare class will this book into?
And will I have an option to upgrade to First or Main Cabin Plus for cash via the AA website.
The QF booking engine lets me select a standard seat on the AA flight from row 12 back, I assume this is due to WP / OWE.
Many thanks.

IME, no upgrade offers on AA if booked on an 081 ticket.

OWE should get full selection of economy seats. On 2 class AA narrow bodies that is generally from row 8 and back. (Always look for "Main Cabin Extra" (MCE) as extra legroom along with enhanced drink service.

I thought I read that selecting MCE had been removed as a benefit for OWE?

It’s back.

Check both the AA app and AA website. My last trip (JFK-SFO on 3 class A321 booked direct with AA), I was able to score front row / exit row. But from memory one or other was showing a fee to select MCE.
