Going to Singapore for a few days in August. Flying Adelaide-Sydney-Singapore and return. First leg with QF, then with BA in WT+ (opposite on return!). K class with QF, then T with BA.

Can anyone explain what the fare basis of "TLSSIT" means, please?

I've searched and found out what the tax codes on the ticket mean (apart from increasing the fare by almost one-third), but couldn't find the fare basis.

Pure curiosity, nothing else.

Thanks

A fare basis is essentially a particular fare with a particular set of rules that apply to the fare.

As a general rule, the first letter is the booking class for the ticket.

odoherty is correct - the fare rules say it's a BA special excursion in 'T', (QF feeder segments in 'K') and the 'L' is low season. Looks like a good value fare for WT+ too...

I know the 1st parts

T implies booking class of T ( which is WT+ on BA )
L means Low season
SS means supersave

Was the fare booked direct with BA or through an agent. If the latter the IT may refer to Inclusive Tour I believe. Looking on EF, the BA fares listed for T class in August show fare bases of TLSS, WLFF and WLFFOW for August

The people on this board are so good! Thanks to all who replied.

It's a "special" holiday deal from Qantas Holidays (and is still listed there), and is a package including flights, transfer and accommodation.

We booked through an agent (although I'm not really sure why).

We decided a few years back to have annual trips: last year was Britain/Germany, this year Singapore, probably Singapore again next year, with Britain/Germany again in 2008. Yes, we're boring, middle-aged, middle-class, middle-of-the-road WT+ people through and through (too tight to pay for Business, but more than happy to accept it if it gets "thrown" our way)!

Since it is a Qantas holidays deal, IT will stand for Inclusive Tour. Have a pleasant trip
