Famous people seen (or even met) whilst flying or lounging

On QF1 in F arriving in London today and thought I recognised two of the passengers on board, but definitely not personally. When I asked, I found out they were Muse.

Yes, I was in J on that very flight. Matthew Bellamy (lead singer) was in F and the rest of the entourage (including his wife and kid) were up the back in J.

Wally Lewis checking in golf clubs at virgin bne and my flight jq to NTL had NRL coach Wayne Bennett and silverchair frontman Daniel Johns.

This thread reminds me of a time 2 yrs ago when flying F on a 747, I noted Bryan Brown in the seat in front. I was woken by the CSM stating she recognised me as a medico and I was needed on the flight deck for a sick first officer. She said the only other doctor on the flight was a vet, which would have been fine if it was the second officer! I spent the time on the flight deck while SWMBO was being pampered with multiple gifts from the DF catalogue. We were amazed we got more attention than BB! What fun!:D

*shudder* I had a run in with a kidney stone earlier this year. Thankfully it passed without me feeling it.

I imagine the lack of painkiller would have been a drag.

About 30 mins ago - Gwyneth Paltrow and entourage LAX whilst checking in and then again in the TSA queue. She got pinged for second inspection.

Her entry into the airport was a sight.....pap's everywhere and her staff being forceful in pushing them out of the way. The son had a full face zip up hoody.

Once airside they were a normal family with one escort and no more full face zipped hoody.

FWIW they are heading to LHR....

She'll be flying into a bit of a storm here then!

out of interest.....who on the flight has the training to administer schedule 8 drugs like that, if there is no medicos on board?

Probably a question for jb747, but I would guess that any of the crew could under instruction from the ground. A bit like RFDS.

I think it's something like that.

From what I recall, aircraft have similar rules as "rural area" first aid, which means typically non-authorised people can administer drugs under instruction of professionals from afar.

I am sure there is some CASA / FAA / etc regulation to cover all this.

i have a bit of a list but will just mention these two for now ;-O However, 1989 on flight with Harlem Globetrotters. They gave me some complimentary ringside tickets and was able to invite several very excited youngsters who managed to get all autographs! 2002 : met Eliades Ochoa, and Buena Vista Social Club on flight to Mexico. Said goodbye at airport only to arrive at same hotel as them (sounding like a groupie!) Had breakfast with Ochoa early next morning, and he gave me a ticket (front row) to concert. Nice photo taken with Compay Segundo - just a year before he died!

Shared a shuttle ride with James Earl Jones.
Very distinctive face and voice.I recognised him instantly but had to do a Google search to get his name!
