Famous people seen (or even met) whilst flying or lounging

Ita Buttrose was on my MEL-SYD flight couple weekends ago, seat 2A.

Most famous, I was waiting for my flight in LAX and Mike Tyson walks past getting on his flight to LAX. I had only just watched Hangover on the flight into LAX.

Half-expected to see someone on here comment that they saw Katy Perry when she arrived in Sydney on Sunday(?) morning.
Flying from LA to SYD I suspect she would have been flying QF though you never know I suppose. Wonder if she would be in J or F lol.

I heard her being interviewed on the radio earlier today & she's apparently off to Tokyo tonight.

My brother sat next to Jon Stevens (former Noiseworks frontman) in J on a QF flight SYD/PER a couple of weeks back then they were both on the same flight last week SYD/ADL but different rows this time & had a brief chat as they got off the a/c.

Chris Gayle (West Indian Cricketer) in Canberra QF Lounge in 2010

Had the pleasure of flying back with the entire NSW Waratahs rugby side in 2010 from NZ. Lovely chaps, Head FA was a total b***h when I was talking to a few of them mid flight and sent me back to my seat like a punished child.

Andrew Johns (league player)
Wendell Sailor

Both saw in SYD QF lounge

Tammy Macintosh (actor from All Saints and Police Rescue fame) in 2011 in Y Class on a QF BNE SYD flight

Gary Ablett Jnr held the door open for my young (crying) nephew and I at Melbourne Airport

had a lovely chat with Dan Carter and Richie McCaw (All Blacks players) at SYD T1 when they were leaving for NZ in 2012. True gentlemen.

Ashley (I don't think it was Mary-Kate) Olsen in the LAX FL lounge on Oct 24th. We were both on the delayed AA4. She was not happy at all about the delay and made it know to the AAngels who were very good at diffusing the tension. I was reaccommodated on AA32 and I believe Ashley was too - although I'm not completely sure as it was a bit of a rush to get to the new gate on time.

Andrew Demetriou (AFL head honcho) and Bill Shorten (ALP head honcho) at the Virgin lounge at MEL this morning

I'm thinking that while it wasn't obvious, the team manager may have made that request. I can understand the issue if everyone did decide to have a chat with the team mid flight.

my 7 year old F1 mad son had the pleasure of meeting Danial Ricciardo in the Singapore Qantas Club a couple of weeks ago. Absolute gentleman and credit to F1, introduced himself and shook hands with an awe struck kid and took time to chat and have a great photo taken

Labor Senator Kim Carr in the MEL J Lounge on Sunday (10NOV). Didn't look at all impressed to be slumming it with us regular plebs in the J Lounge.

I once saw the back of John Williams head haha. Whilst flying with my friends on an internal flight in America my friend found himself sat next to John Williams, anyway a short time later when the plane finally landed and we was getting off my friend had the biggest grin on his face and told me who he was sat next too with a signed demo CD in his hand. As I looked up I only saw the back of his head as he was exiting the plane.

Derryn Hinch currently in the MEL J Lounge.

I assume he's enjoying his last few days of freedom before being put in the slammer again for breaching a court order/contempt of court.

He actually flew to to Sydney from there because I saw him there later on

Not sure if it was actually the man himself, but in the F lounge at JFK T7 the other day, they paged Mr George Clooney.

Perhaps qualifies as a phantom sighting?

Last night in the CDG EK lounge, they were paging what sounded like "Mr Colin Firth". I'm sure it wasn't that Colin Firth, though.

Perhaps qualifies as a phantom sighting?

Maybe we need another thread specifically for 'famous people paged'?
