Famous people seen (or even met) whilst flying or lounging

Tuesday in SYD Flounge and then in the Bosses seat on QF11-D*ck Smith. And he did have the duck salad!

Cameron Diaz just spotted wingspan shoving Chicken Cacciatore and Colorado Beef into his mouth like it was no one's business. In fact, she was sitting directly across from him at the LAX OneWorld First Class lounge, so hopefully she enjoyed the view. The two of them were in the OneWorld First lounge at TBIT, LAX. Diaz was given a private escort to BA282 so she missed wingspan's encore of corn chips and orange juice.

I think it was last year, I saw the judging team for Masterchef. Gary, George and Matt were walking down the bridge behind me. All the contestants were in the back but didn't recognise them of course because it hadn't screened yet.

It was on the way back from one of their "field trips" to WA.

...QLD pollie Bob Katter with mobile phone glued to his ear as usual. I hope he's on an umlimited usage plan or his bill would be horrendous - I've never seen him not on the phone.

Who knows... Research also indicates that people use their phone (or pretend to) to avoid a confrontational or awkward situation.

Bob Hawke whizzed past me this morning on the back of one of those carts whilst I waited for 510 @ gate 2 SYD T3. He was being rushed to Gate 1, and was last to board 739 to ADL.

I like how wingspan talks about himself in the third person. Whatmeworry thought this was funny! ;)

Another F1 weekend... and my delightful (!!!!) 0245 BA departure from Abu Dhabi to Heathrow featured Mr Mark Webber in First, with Red Bull Team Boss Christian Horner and racecar design legend Adrian Newey also there. Same flight featured many many F1 people in all classes including most of the McLaren management (but not drivers) and Lotus third driver Jerome D'Ambrosio.
(Yes, I realise most of these aren't 'famous' to anyone except F1 geeks :))

Pre-departure the AUH lounge was being rapidly drained of champers by the Lotus team members celebrating the win of their driver Raikkonen - I think most people slept well on the flight

Sort of Travel-was on the shuttle back to the W Hollywood and a premiere at the Chinese Theatre.Had to look it up but saw Marion Cotillard on the red carpet.Nice legs-you will have to google pictures.

Michael Palin was in the BNE QF J lounge yesterday morning around 8am. As I later found out from reading the article in The Australian Way, he has a show in Melbourne on Friday night and one in Sydney on Saturday.

I'd forgot to add last week that Brendan Moar was in the very crowded T2 QP at SYD along with his trendy colleagues. He went out when the JQ CNS flight was called. Spoke briefly with him about a garden problem, he was pleasant.

If she looked as good as she did in the July 2009 picture on Wikipedia, then no wonder you noticed them/her :D.

This is certainly clutching at straws when it comes to the definition of "famous" - Noelene Hogan on FJ911 (NAN-SYD) on Tues. Seated in 1A, the FA discreetly asked if she would prefer a couple of seats to herself a few rows back, as 1B was about to board.

1B turned out to be Fiji's Attorney General on his way to a meeting in Malaysia.

That would seem to be the most disparate of seat pairings

K. Rudd in 1A on QF506 just then (SYD-BNE). Last on board with his "hollow men". Not sure how many of them were his but they look a bit like the Chaser guys did when they were younger!

Had a trip with the stars this week.

Flight up sat behind Mike Tyson and next to Max Markson who was texting another famous Melbourne identity. Last night shared a lift with half the SA cricket team. Breakfast this morning next to the Channel 9 cricket commentary team. Flight back same row as David Schwartz and behind Natasha Stott-Despoja.

Agreed, not blue ribbon celebs but this was ADL.

Gary Mehigan flying down to MEL on Wednesday morning and in the SYD J lounge. I was a little surprsied he wasn't in the CL given the QF relationship with MasterChef.

Neither he (individually), nor his employer, meet the criteria for being CL. He'd be a Plat so easy to understand why he's in the JFlounge. I wonder if he likes the NPPP's :D
