Also on my flight VA 838 was Mark Waugh sitting behind me in 2f i had no idea who he was but my brother in law likes cricket and said that was him behind us, also Kerri Ann Kennerly on the same flight but in economy.

I sat next to a lady who was into child protection and was doing a speech that day on the way to Australia. She was in the media that night don't remember her name but she was awake all night doing her speech to her husband and then fix it up and start again...

Good morning's spotting: Alan Stockdale, George Columbaris on MEL-SYD, now the twin hioster judges from Australia's got talent on QF11.

Spotted a couple of times in the MEL QF domestic J lounge recently: Senator Nick Xenophon. A bit surprising as I thought as a sitting senator, he would be entitled to CL? Or does he not accept freebies as a matter of principle?

Xenophon only flies Y on taxpayer money on principle and campaigns for J/F to be restricted/banned for all MPs. Probably has status on actual flying, I'd assume.

Yep.

And I think the CL is for ex-Pm's (or current, but current use it very sparingly) and ex-senior Ministers(i.e. treasurers, A-G's) . Ask Mr's P Costello & J Howard...W. Swan and the like. Mr. K Rudd would use it every other day, I'm sure!

I saw the Perth Lynx (I think that's what they're called) in the VA lounge a few weeks ago. Its not often that I'm surrounded by very tall athletic ladies so it was a nice way to start the trip. I looked them up on my phone and it turns out they were heading to CBR to play there the following day.

He knocked back his CL membership.

He doesn't even fly J when he gets a free upgrade:
