Famous people seen (or even met) whilst flying or lounging

During my status run on Thursday, I saw John Kosmina, and some of the Adelaide United team on my SYD-ADL and then when I arrived in PER, I saw Brett Lee arriving.

After the F lounge visit on my way back to BNE i saw Pete Balisina (Sunrise Gadget guy) in Melb J lounge.

In the F lounge i saw Shaun Ewing

Ewing and I saw Gerry Harvey from Harvey Norman and Kate, his wife.

He was in Y on our flight and later turned up at the same hotel I'm staying in. We ended up drinking well into the small hours and we are actually having dinner tonight!

He was "only" CL so I trumped him on seat selection. I did get the CSM to take both he and Ewing wine from J.

And this Platinum also trumped him on seat selection. Gerry was in 5C and I was in 4C.

The wine was a nice touch!

Arrived at QF security lines at MEL at the same time as Wayne Swan.He went in to the premium line.I chose an ordinary line as it was half as long.Beat him through easily.

You will quite often see Bill Shorten around 6.40 on a Monday morning going though security back to Canberra, no lounge, just straight to gate....

2009 Melbourne F1. Sir Stirling Moss, who obliged me with an autograph. i can't believe i was so nervous and shakey! very embarrassing for a woman of my age.
2011 flying from KUL to PVG, half of the F1 drivers were on our plane. obviously we were going from race to race and no wonder J wasn't available on that flight either. a bit strange that there were so many of one flight though, if something had gone wrong, half the competition would've been wiped out

There is hope for others with MT (moral turpitude) issue when they let in such a person to the US.
One of my staff has been waiting and waiting......and he did something when he was 18....

Was that the English rugby team rather than British?

I originally thought that as well, but then I remembered that the British Lions have played a few games in this part of the world so I gave the benefit of the doubt to the poster. (part of me still thinks that they meant the English team though)

The British and Irish lions are due to tour soon but normally not until mid year. Although I thought they toured south Africa last year so it feels unusual that they'd be around now.

Bold bit was the important bit.

Mind you I shouldn't be too picky on this stuff given I started the thread with a reference to "that fat bloke off blue heelers"...

Bold bit was the important bit.

That is indeed important as, technically, I think there is no British rugby team.

Ok I've looked it up and it must have been the England team as they last toured South Africa in 2009 and are next due to tour Australia in 2013. Quote from Wikipedia on the format:

The Lions currently tour three southern-hemisphere nations; Australia, South Africa and New Zealand. They also routinely toured in Argentina before World War II. Tours currently take place every four years. The most recent tour visited South Africa in May–July 2009, and before that the Lions toured New Zealand in 2005.

Funny it feels like only yesterday that Australia beat them on tour, yet it was actually 2001. :(

Actually, I think it was the British and Irish Lions in 2005, as they were heading to New Zealand, and the sighting wasn't in the past couple of years. Apologies for the misnomer
