Saw Tom Williams on QF 555 from BNE to SYD last Saturday. He was talking to some fellow pax in J (overhead from my row 4 seat) that he was on a day trip (for work I assume).

On an unrelated note, I was offered access to the BNE J lounge before my flight as the QP was closed for the night already. Me thinks it was due to QF not wanting to keep two lounges open for a small number of pax (with some travelling on JQ). A pleasant surprise as I managed to sample the food (managed to had some pork tacos before the kitchen closes).

Last week I was onboard with the bank CEO who was the fastest talker at the banking Royal Commission. He was well behaved and did not snore.

We saw a man at a regional airport in NSW who was impeccably dressed- not just well dressed, but with a particular style that normal people cantc pull off.
Older gentleman, with perfect leather luggage to boot. Just before we boarded the plane he was standing with his wife and a younger man (son) who wasn't nearly as remarkable.
I went up to the older gentleman to compliment his outfit, because damn it was well put together. He seemes pleased, if a little baffled and his son started laughing.

Later on the plane the son walked past and one of the other passengers got all excited. Apparently it was Jame Blunt.

Janes Blunt's dad had amazing style!

Plenty of top (and not so top) tennis players in my Auckland Hotel this week. Notably Caroline Wozniacki, Julia Goerges, Venus Williams and Genie Bouchard. A few blokes too but none I really recognise (men’s tourney yet to start and maybe no big names come for this one).

Had a brief chat with Venus sittilng next to me at breakfast. And elevator chat with Bouchard. Both lovely and very down to earth. Or very practiced at small talk! Hotel had upgraded me to penthouse suite. Bouchard, not so much. TKWIA.

Oh to be stuck in an elevator with Genie Bouchard...

Oh to be stuck in an elevator with Genie Bouchard...
She was hot and sweaty having just come from a hitout. I was too by the end of the all too brief elevator ride. I thought I was going to have an awkward stalker moment as I assumed she’d be on the penthouse floor too and I of course let her swipe her card first, it would look ever so convenient that I was on the same floor. Thankfully not the case.

As an aside, while they all have a presence, Venus really does stand out. But she was very gracious at breakfast allowing a few kids to have their pics taken with her.
