Family sharing points expiry

Does anyone know how the 18 month expiry rule affects family pooling? Eg if one member in the sharing earns a point does it reset the expiry date for all the pooled points? Or just their own.

I think earn only keeps the earning account current, but a redemption is applied proportionally to every account in the pool so that keeps everyone current.
