Hello all,

I'm trying to work out how many people in total can be members of my 'pool'. I know that I can only have one adult pooling to me at any given time, and at that same given time 4 children, which when including me makes six in the pool. However I'm confused: can I have another adult, like my own parents who live with me, included in the 'pool' but not actively pooling to me at that time? Or, another example might be I take a 2nd wife. Ok maybe not, but you get the idea.

Velocity's Family Pooling page states:

A Family Pool may consist of a maximum total of 6 eligible family members, which includes the member being pooled to. A maximum of two members of the Pool may be 18 years or over. A maximum of four members of the Pool may be under 18 years of age.

Can anyone clarify please?

thanks

Your first instinct is correct ... 2 adults including yourself and up to four members under 18 years, all of whom live at the same address.

I imagine you would be removing your first wife from your pool, polygamy being tricky for Australian residents

... and few ex-wives being willing to contribute to status

As mention 6 total, active or non-active. You need to actively manage the family pool members. Fortunately you don't have to state a relationship, so you can have as many wifes as you wish.

My sister in law lived with us for a while and was in my family pool at the time.

Many thanks for the responses all. Looks like my 'work wife' is going to miss out.

Was your question answered though? I'm of the belief you can have many people contribute at different times to your "pool" provided you only have one adult and up to 4 kids at any one time and you all live together. Ie extended families under one roof is OK but as medhead suggested, you do have to actively manage the arrangement (dropping off and adding members is pretty well instantaneous).

Thanks swanning-it. I may still give it a go, by swapping around my pool. I'll report back if my master plan is successful ;)

Would like to point out there are some quirks though, i.e. when a child becomes an adult. If they are already in a pooling arrangement (and you already have 2 adults) they are not thrown out. You do get error message from time to time but you can ignore these.

PS. Yes, believe swanning_it is correct, am sure I have done this in the past.
