Buying a few pounds in England at $1.75 instead of $1.50 with the 28 degrees card has not ruined our holiday. Carluccios and Waitrose still cost less than their Perth equivalents but may be closer to some Melbourne pricing.
Enjoy the pound surge in value Flashback with your holiday in OZ.

We are heading Indonesia and Thailand int he next few weeks. I think the little Aussie battler has held up relatively well against those two currencies but I should have bought USD a few months ago for the VOA in Bali. D'oh.

It depends on how you look at it.

Earlier this year I was getting close to 32 THB/AUD and recently it was ~28 THB/AUD but AUD has since gone down further. I am back again in Thailand end of September and I hope it is at least stable.

I do have ~EUR1,000 which I have been reluctant to use due to their devaluation but now could be a good time.

Quite lovely for a quick trip to Aus:
AUD->GBP
Bid: 0.5737 Ask: 0.5740

... Now when you leave, please arrange for that to be reverted to a much better rate. I still want to remove myself from investments in Australia and I just am waiting for the right time (up to a certain deadline)
