Just wondering based on the performance of he Oz team how they decide who gets the F seats back to Oz.

I understand that Gold medals lead to F seats but they might run out at this rate given team successes rather than individual:

Athletics - 1 (possibly 2)
Canoeing - 4
Cycling - 1
Sailing - 3
Swimming - 4 (maybe 5 given anyone who swam in the heats in the relay also got a gold medal)

That gives possibly 13 at the moment with a couple of others to come possibly - thank goodness the Hockey players didnt make it to the final ;)

Redundant question - its a three class bird with no F!

I guess QF knew something about the Australian preparation that we didnt ;)

And thanks markis10 - facts - the bane of a internet forum obsessive...

The swimming relay would be 7 if they counted heat swimmers.

And remember that many athletes do not return on the charter flight, opting to stay and holiday locally before returning home.

Sounds terrible, <touch wood> etc. What if something bad happened on the way back, a lot of top sports people gone .

It was originally an A380 going into STN on the 13th, now its a 747 that is operating ex BNE on Sunday and ferrying after doing 107 LAX-NYC to STN. Its OJU the boxing kangaroo that had the paint job at the same time as the reconfig.

Is it a special charter flight? Or is it a regular scheduled flight? If its the latter, is it possible one could get on board as a regular passenger, would be a great flight on board.

So what's the pecking order?

Gold - F
Silver - J
Bronze - Y+
No win - Cattle Class

?

I am surprised they all fly on the one aircraft.

Whats our collective investment in these people?

A sprinkling of Gold, a touch of Bronze and a fair bit of Silver.

I think there might be more than 400 atheletes and spurt crews and AOC administrators...

I guess we could just start all over again next time with a new bunch?

And good to see that QF have enhanced their offering to the Gold medal winners...
